i feel like a big oversight is the viewers dont know the point values of your rules, so it was hard to counteract them
@NaveicationАй бұрын
Its relative to the piece values, i guessed somewhere between 2 to 3 for the pawns on 4th rank rule by observing that it would move to the fifth rank when it can take an undefended knight (resulting in +3 in material values), it never did to caputure a pawn (would only be +1) and it was hesitant to do so when a knight was defended (only +2 in material after takeback) So I think it's not an oversight and the rough values can be estimated. It only needed to beat a 550 bot, so even if we didnt get it right exactly it would still do well enough if we get into the general area

This is also an exploit. Someone can just add the rule ‘multiply all piece values by 1000’ and this all but invalidates the bad heuristics.

no. you can estimate the point value pretty accurately. estimate the loss of eval when the bot adheres to one of its pretty obvious rules instead of making the logical move.

Guess of the rules: 1. Push pawns to 4th rank 2. Push king to the end of the board 3. Place nights on the rim (a3, h3) 4. Give up the queen 5. Unsure on the 5th rule

After destroying Chatfish, they move on to ruining your bot.

Great video! These chess bots have been really entertaining! I'm curious though, how good is Pufferfish if you reverse the rules? Ex. Instead -1.1 for each pawn we have, it's +1.1

Most likely not want to promote if the piece value is less than what you would have if you didn't promote

How many ways do you wanna make it not checkmate Greenlemongames: YES

I like the incremental style more than the select first then play. Maybe we can alternate selecting a few rules, playing, then adding another rule or something?

Suggestion: Test the Chatfish bot against the Logic bot. [6th but no one probably cares we just want fame.]

i wonder what would happen if you mix together a bunch of the different bot rules into one chatfish amalgam
@dragononfire9862Ай бұрын
You should make a turnament with the bot but it randomly changes the values So you get like an evolution of optimization
