China has said that rival Palestinian groups Hamas and Fatah met in Beijing recently for "in-depth and candid talks on promoting intra-Palestinian reconciliation". Hamas seized control of the Gaza Strip in 2007 after fighting with its rivals in Fatah, which maintains partial administrative control in the Israeli-occupied West Bank through the Palestinian Authority. China has historically been sympathetic to the Palestinian cause and supportive of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Does that meeting mean it can broker peace in Palestine? Or does China have other ambitions? Palki Sharma tells you.

Whatever China is doing for Palestine is absolutely NOT for ending the war. Because ending the war on Gaza doesn't benefit their agenda of taking over Taiwan since they're protected by the US. So it really benefits China if the US stays preoccupied with Gaza and Ukraine. It gives them a much better chance of success to take over Taiwan.
