As amazing as that invoice is, thanks for including those first 4 ways; I am much less interested in being a millionaire as I am in taking back control of my time and my life, and getting the reassurance that copywriting can help me do that is hugely motivating. This was so great, Alex! Thank you. My eyes literally bulged out of my head when I saw that invoice 🤣 I have a request for your tips on how to deal with clients who constantly want to play it safe, don't know how to step out of boring corporate voice, and are too scared to go with a more edgy tone of voice EVEN when you know in your GUT that it would totally resonate with their target audience ?? This is a common theme for me when working with certain clients. They are just knee-deep in fear. They are so scared to do things differently.

I gave up on copywriting. For now 😅 I was surrounded by people who didn't understand why they needed to pay more to a copywriter, if anyone can write. People don't care about creativity. They just need someone who writes words with 100% proofreading ability. I haven't watched your videos for a couple of months. I felt so demotivated. Now I am ready to be interested again. But I decided to keep copywriting for myself and for those chosen ones who cares 😂 I will try to do something else for my living. Thank you Alex for your videos! Do you know that feeling when somebody takes thought and say it loud? I've never read books about copywriting, but I had certain feelings on how it should look like. When I found your KZbin Channel I got proofs that those feelings are real, not just in my head 😊

Alla, so happy that you're back in the game. If I may offer my opinion after having worked in the industry for some time: although as a copywriter you may think of yourself as creative, remember that copy is text that sells. So when they hire you, they aren't hiring you to create a piece of art, they're hiring you to sell. And I would recommend starting to read those books :D Cause although you may have a strong gut feel, that's not going to get you far. Like Alex said - you get what you put out. So you gotta start taking them courses and devouring them books and then ofc applying it in real life.

Hey! You are awesome and I love your content. Quick question: Do copywriters deal with the actual placement of words, visual art, effects, etc. of landing pages, emails, blogs, etc. or do you just write everything out on a simple word document, send it to them, and they are responsible for handling the actual input of info and editing images to it, etc.?
@AlexCattoni
@AlexCattoni 3 жыл бұрын
Copywriters are ONLY responsible for the words :) With that said, of course if you have a specific design idea in mind that you believe will compliment your copy, and vision, you can absolutely make note of that suggestion to your client. But ultimately, the design is up to them.

@AlexCattoni
@AlexCattoni 2 жыл бұрын
That depends on you! When you're a freelancer you get to decide that ;) What I typically do when I want a "true vacation" is work ahead for all my retainer clients. That way I don't have much - if anything - to do while actually on vacation. But in the beginning of my freelancing career I traveled A LOT. So I worked while I traveled because traveling was more of a lifestyle rather than just a "vacation".
