When you said you declined a friend’s feedback because you were confident in your art, that really helped me. It’s a lot of power in “no” and that just help me realize that even more. Thank you

Glad it helped you! I just want people to accept someone art and leave it at that lol if it’s not for you keep it moving

Sometimes, people approach art like sports or science. Only results matter, but art is a form of expression n that's not something that needs criticism. It can be helpful, although i think releasing what resonates with you is more fulfilling.

You saying art is science kinda has me intrigued because that never crossed my mind..

Great points, but even more so - love your reflection first. Sometimes we take others thoughts and it can come and undermine the ones we have especially those that are pure. Artist envision from a place no one can replicate. Though people may copy a product, you can’t recreate a dream. Allowing yourself to create without others voices is so special and not spoken enough about!

This exactly! The purest art is from the source (your heart) and sometimes I just wanna listen to that and let that organically bring me who’s suppose to find me. I think it’s important!

Great point in how taking criticism before the fact can alter your original idea! As social beings, all criticism is good - especially if the recipient can sift out what's for them in it.

@@eliasmuhammad7231 yes sometimes ya gotta see what your original idea will do, to build that confidence and trust within yourself. And yes criticism can help sometimes really depends on the person receiving and who is criticizing too. Lol most critics don’t even do what they are criticizing

Indeed @iTzMisTV This video could've easily been twice as long, if you wanted to go in depth (see what I there?). 😄

I don’t think it’s fair to critique ppls art.. whether you like it or not is subjective because we all have different taste and what might not hit me might hit somebody else. Who are we to judge something someone too their time to work on and put out for the world. Most ppl have never done that yet will be the first to criticize. I am guilty of this and have been actively working on not always being so fast to tweet “I didn’t care for ___’s new album” or things like that because I always feel very guilty when that artist searches their name and sees what I said OR it takes a while for the music to grow on me and then I regret I ever spoke so soon. We gotta let ppl express themselves however they see fit and let it be.

🥺🥺 this exactly! Making art is so vulnerable and it’s a piece your soul.. (depending on said artist of course) I feel like if I didn’t like something it wasn’t meant to reach me. And maybe with another project they will never know. It’s all a journey and I’m happy you are being more mindful of that.

As an artist criticism is good sometimes but too much of anything can be bad for you🤷🏽♂️

I live by take what you need… because we all have the ability to truly tap into ourselves. And Ima listen to me… especially since this art came from me.
