Wow this is by far the coolest science happening right now. So much potential

The Olson lab's research is so interesting. I wanted to join them for my PhD but unfortunately got rejected, but I will continue keeping up with their research and maybe some day I can get in on it.

@aozla hayka I don't know, no one ever really tells you why they reject you, they just copy and paste the rejection letter.

Have you tried DMT? If so what do you make of it from an Islamic prospective if you have one?
@Objective-web3 жыл бұрын
@@RayRa yes I have, and being a hardcore scientist myself i was very skeptical about its "healing ability" at the time i was going through mild depression and i was consuming alcohol regularly. After few DMT trips i felt a little better but the most noticeable difference was my decreased desire to drink alcohol. I'm an ex-muslim so i have no Islamic opinion on it. But my overall opinion is "it's interesting". I still prefer 2CB however, i got more meaningful experience trying that compared to the hyperspeed of changing objects and thoughts on dmt.

@@Objective-web I think in terms of addiction shrooms are more of a reset button than DMT. As per your Islamic perspective as a newly Muslim who was searching for true meaning of life and found it thru Islam I encourage you to delve deeper stay humble and ask the Almighty to guide you. As long as you are not dead you still have time. Once you begin to ask for guidance it will come to you as long as you are humble and not arrogant. Those are the prerequisite for guidance. Allah started his book saying in the name of the most merciful and the most compassionate

@@RayRa Thanks man, I am very glad that you found what makes you comfortable, and live in peace in a chaotic world. I always try my best to stay humble, help others, and live my life without inflicting harm on any one. Although I do not practice islam anymore, I have never looked down on any religious person (muslim or not). I do believe in the power of religion in providing people with peace and serenity, and at the end of the day that is all that matters. Salam brother.

Everybody talks about this being a potential for depression, PTSD, etc - but what about people without these afflictions? How can it be beneficial for healthy minded people?
@nervonabliss2 жыл бұрын
Maybe a general therapy/mood booster. It'd be like taking lions mane mushrooms as a part of your daily supplements.

Psychoplastogen is such a great word! It'll be great if these compounds aid stroke and other traumatic brain damage... According to that chart, psilocin should be less active as a plastogen since it's 4 - substituted...is it?(I think the OH is an exception) Very cool, thanks again!

Why are some people not affected when they ingest Ayahuasca (DMT)? I know of a person who ingested increasing amounts of Ayahuasca over a 7 day period and the only effect was vomiting for each of the four sessions.
@tiggerbiggo Жыл бұрын
Most ayahuasca retreats are not run by people who know what they are doing, and a fair number of them are straight scams. Unless you were able to confirm with certainty that what you took was properly prepared (DMT has absolutely no effect orally without a MAOI) then don’t assume it doesn’t affect you. You may have just been sold bad product.

Maybe not enough NBO inhibitors?(think that’s what they are called) try a pen maybe. I think his body is breaking down the compound before it reaches his blood stream

what about nndmt? does it potentially have long term brain changes?
@Leojuutilainen3 жыл бұрын
Id argue that ergolines are a more interesting addition to the human nervous system since AFAIK we dont have them (or something completely like it) in the brain. Also i think its right that for people who don't need intense problemsolving a low dose of something gaba-genic is probably more optimal that most peoples homeøstasis.

So i used 5meo to come off of methadone. Very small amounts results in zero withdrawal for hours i believe it has something to do with all of this

Probably not. Dendrite growth takes a while to unfold. If the effect is immediate, it's likely psychological.

The answer is no, because most cases of depression and anxiety are caused because of damage to the gut
@tkthehottie32052 жыл бұрын
True foods affect on the gut microbiota to both gastrointestinal and extragastrointestinal diseases. Dysbiosis and inflammation of the gut have been linked to causing several mental illnesses including anxiety and depression.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. “most cases”? Bullshit. Depression is a maladaptive cycle that can be caused by many different factors.
