I had visual snow, afterimages and flahes of lights from my childhood without any drugs. At 30 i grew mushrooms and used them for about 4 months every week. And visual now is almost gone. My vision is much better. The only problem that colors became to bright

Hey.! I was taking antidepressants for 2 months after that i stopped taking it. Then i developed afterimage,flotters starburst vision halos. It's already been more than 10 months since these symptoms persist. Opthalmologist said nothing wrong with my eyes. What should i do ?

@@surajjha1740 a neurologist is probably better than opthalmologists. i assume opthalmologists look at the eye physically. and im sure those symptoms stem from something in the brain.

[Like I said above ...] Yeah, the Talking Heads don't always know or understand everything. You can get Visual Snow after taking too many drugs, and it takes a while to go away. But, it can. If you stop long enough and do some detoxing, or mine's got better, I think.

I’ve never done hard drugs. I don’t drink. Never been on meds. I’ve had it since a kid. But I had ALOT of really bad traumatic stuff that happened so I assume that somehow damaged my brain in a way that caused it. Idk just learned about this today but I’m 100% sure I have it.

I have had visual snow since age 6. Drugs do not affect this condition it’s completely unrelated

Gotta love how everyone preaches to get sober and not touch alcohol so often but as soon as i stopped drinking in rehab i got slammed with zoloft, clonidine, hydroxyzine, and gabapentin. Had better eyes when i was half a bottle of bourbon deep. Was a happier drunk than a sober dude walking around with my vision like a 90 year old now.

Gotta let your brain heal man. The drugs don’t let your brain heal the way it’s meant to, they’re just a crutch. It may take a long time(months for some, years for others) and be pretty uncomfortable, but your brain does heal.

Both my visual snow and my tinnitus were triggered by Wellbutrin. I know this because my tinnitus went away gradually after stopping Wellbutrin the first time and then returned after restarting it a couple years later. Unfortunately they didn't go away the second time and I've had both for the past 20 years.

Doxycycline could induce Visual Snow Syndrome if ICP increased (Elevated Intracranial Pressure), this condition (VSS) is usually due to damaged cells around the Optic Nerve (weak optic nerve) and Visual Cortex but does not affect the visual pathway or Cupping (C/D cup-to-disc ratio ). In some cases could lead to Glaucoma later in life (40s+). in most cases if Doxycycline induced VSS, it will resolve by t's own within 6 months up to 3 years as long as intracranial pressure back to normal .

@@gosh.o505 Many antibiotics can cause VSS, this condition is similar to HPPD induced by Psychedelic drugs or cannabis... , also it's common among mental ill patients especially Schizophrenia or Psychosis Disorders. I had success with this drug (Amitriptyline) with 2 patients, almost all VSS symptoms disappeared within a month.

I've been assessed for ICH but did not get confirmed to have it. I have smaller optic disks so could be related. I honestly took sooooo long to be diagnosed I would not be surprised if at some point my pressure was raised and it caused damage but cleared up. I was very unwell for about 2 years. Constant migraines, frequent nausea and vomiting. Pain. Light sensitivity.

Tips, don't smoke tabacco or weed. Aviod alcohol and don't look at screens too much. Sleep right and meditate will make improvements

@@TheMrBeckoo Around 18 months. I got HPPD in high school in the 90s when this was very little known about. Fortunately my symptoms were light to moderate. Sadly the Trazadone worsened the VS. I don't see colors thank God.

That could be possible but I don't think any research has been done on that. If crack does damage to the development of a baby brain then yes it could be possible.

@@monkemaster7208 You could have b een exposed to a chemical that gave you some toxicity. Then, that gets in your body and causes this. Or, that's what a lot of us who have used drugs and did too high of a dosage think has happened to us.
