Can EAL Break 90 from the tips on The Ocean Course's PGA Championship Layout? - Front 9

Break 90 is back for the 2021 PGA Championship at The Ocean Course at Kiawah. The Ocean Course might just be the most difficult course in the United States. Some would argue the world. Under championship conditions from the back-back, this course has teeth.

RGC and EAL literally have created a diary we can all visualize and relate to . I love how it accentuates history, blends the creativity of the sport into a vibrant understanding of not just golf but the landscape around it. These videos really makes you want to play, be better, and with these vlogs creates a distinct understanding at how difficult these courses are for pros let alone the average golfer. Idk, maybe I’m rambling, but it’s something unique and special. Glad to be apart of the RGC family, thank you for all your hard work into giving us this content i truly mean that. Keep it real 17b

This is best of of the EAL series to date, raw, honest and humble. EAL playing from the tips and living up to every PGA players statement as to what a good single digit golfer would shoot on a major course….a lot! Some would edit or play another 9, but showing a rough, reality round is great to see in the social media world. Good on ya EAL!

This was amazing. EAL is Bourdainian in his delivery and his connection to the viewer It makes the experience real and gives the viewer a sense of empathy. Add to it the sound design where the wind becomes a character in and of itself. The wind almost responds to his strikes and gives us a sense of the difficulty and impact as the imagery of the course does for each bunker and hazard. Can't wait for Torrey and more of the major championship coverage.

I had the opportunity to play the course in the summer of 1991, a couple of months before the Ryder Cup. The clubhouse wasn’t even completed, and we played the course beginning at the south end, starting on (14?) and playing all the way up and back. We didn’t play the tips, but I did record a 90, playing to a 12-or 13 at the time with tees at maybe 6500 yds. Great experience. Someplace in a box of junk I think I still have the scorecard. Highlight of the round was a birdie on #3, short par 4 with elevated green behind a group of trees. The putt was a kick-in.

I feel your pain. I'm a +2 HC and play and have qualified many times for the big amateur events. I was down in South Carolina playing a 2 day qualifier in the same region. Day 1 with 8-10mph winds shot 69 and was 4 back of the lead but 1 back of qualifying. Day 2 with constant 25-30mph winds and serious gusts and I shot 89. Amazingly, I only missed qualifying by 3 shots with an 89. Wind like this where mid flight you catch a 40mph gust is what separates me as a +2 from a tour pro. I shot +14 over 2 rounds, in a Mid Am qualifier and missed by 3 shots.

Erik coming off the first Par 5 and saying “new hole”. I felt that... like on a spiritual level lol. I say that about 18 times a round. I’m not sure how you’re still standing with all that wind but I look forward to the back 9 🚀

Eric, After all these "break 90"'s, you need a confidence boost, my friend! I want to see you play the one of best rounds of your life at a course that you enjoy, or take some friends and do a scramble/best ball whatever man! Just have fun! I can tell your'e not the biggest fan of the break 90 series but still love how you are still challenging yourself and laughing at the bad shots. These courses would kick ANYONES ass.

@@jpmgolf2782 yeah, very strange. He referenced his score a number of times but seemed to have overlooked his quad on two, multiple times.
