Yes. It is possible for the Earth to have rings if the Moon orbited too close to the Earth. If the Moon orbited too close to the Earth, that would trigger the Roche limit that would pull and stretch the Moon causing tidal effects inside it, and then the Earth strong gravitational pull would rip the Moon apart creating rings from the Moon's debris. This would create a ring system just like it did with Saturn. Saturn also had a moon that orbited too close to it and it got ripped apart by the Roche limit.
@zool201975
@zool201975 7 жыл бұрын
there could have eben a period that has seen this effect occur. the moon has been quite a bit closer billions of years ago. but unfortunately that also is more then enough time to remove any asteroid belts for being between two masses that are on cosmic terms not that different in size.

The Earth already has plenty of rings around it, onion rings, phones ring, the ring of fire, Ringo (not a ring, but he sure likes them, ..."and Ringo was his name-O"), for Flat Earthers there is the ice ring, for Fat Earthers there are very large adjustable rings called belts and smaller ones which we eat to become a Fat Earther called donuts, ring tones, Ring Dings (much tastier than Yodels because of their round shape which is what you resemble when you eat too many), ring around the collar, bath tub rings, "The Ring" (film), Saturn's rings are usually at 30ish? p.s.i., I can't speak for any other car make, film projectors have rings with teeth called sprockets, and of course there is the asteroid belt which got ginormous from Jupiter eating too many Dingo sized and larger asteroids called meatballs when an ancient alien round table and their entourage from Saturn's moon Europa's underground ocean used to go bowling on Wednesday nights, also and always formerly known as Prince Spaghetti day and Boogie Knights.

So could I assume it's entirely possible that the rings of various planets could have at one point been celestial bodies torn apart by the Roche limit? I might have that somewhat (or entirely) wrong, but it seems reasonable. EDIT: I asked this before watching the entire video.

our moon is so unnatural in comparison to other moons throughout the cosmos. I would'nt be suprised if a previous ancient earth civilization once existed on earth and mars and the moon was built in the perfect place and at the perfect size and distance it is to have the stabilizing effect that it does on earth.
@numberjackfiutro7412
@numberjackfiutro7412 5 жыл бұрын
There's no law of physics stopping terrestrial planets like Earth from having rings, in deed, Earth may have had rings in the distant past, but it probably went into making Luna, our moon. I don't think that rings would be very stable around a planet as close to a star like the sun as Earth or the other terrestrial planets in our solar system, at least, not stable long term. That said, it would be cool for Earth to have an orbital ring that makes space travel cheaper and easier, Issac Arthur has a video or two on such artificial rings.

Gravitational Gradient a large object like the moon would have higher gravity on one side then the other so as It got closer the gradient would get larger and tear the moon apart. Artificial satellites are so small that the gravitational difference is not enough to tear it apart.

The Roche Limit will usually affect large objects, and perhaps the earth does not have a gravitational pull strong enough to tear smaller things apart.

Anton Petrov Greetings my scientific Comrade: I love your topics but can I ask you to please take your time and think it through because it's so all over the place and science is very precise so is math. How about this, maybe start with the model simulation in play, see if it works and then after we watch it not work explain why instead of jumping all over the place starting stopping and stuff because watching the model work or falter is going to create questions that the viewer wants to be answered and that's your opportunity instead of creating an idea interrupting yourself and the model as it's in process. What software is that because it's fascinating Id be awesome if Neil DeGrasse Tyson had the same idea or even Carl Sagan himself because I'm really interested in your Concepts but it's just like you're playing too much so that's why I have to take it with a grain of salt. Planets in each other's orbits because they clear their orbit and that's why orbits can't be stable and planets orbit each other Titan is like an exception to the rule and look at Triton.

in space you can find no temperature, if you place an object in space, this object has temperature, but not space itself Ice in the inner solar system (mercury to mars) is impossible due to the sun heating the ice or other stuff (dirt/rock) near the ice up, thats why there are gasgiants (Jupiter Saturn Uranus Neptune) in the outer solar system, because there even IF the sun light reaches the surface, the average temperature for the surface is -240 if not lower, because the sun light is just too weak to heat anything up
