Holding hostage seems like a strong word for it. I’ve played plenty of games in Smite where one team extends the game to farm kills off the losing team, but I just don’t really see that being a big issue here. Though I am a TCM newb and could be wrong. Victims I could kind of see, but a decent Family should be able to get them to either leave or die eventually, it could just be a long/annoying game.

@@JackleBull yep that’s pretty much how I feel as well. Less of a hostage situation and more of a slow it down situation. Which both sides can do really. Definitely some good food for thought though.

I think that you should patrol as a team as family and be patient let the victims control the pace but watch your exit points as a team they will come to you and then go for the kill the longer the game goes the victims will take more damage and run out of time I see everyone thirsting kills and chasing me and my friends want you to do this so we can hit exits people who cry over victims being overpowered are dumb and do dumb plays! Victims have been nerfed to oblivion since the game came out instead of playing smarter it's a Chess game

@@seanmccloud9743 You're speaking some truth here! It really does come down to Family patrols and family communication. Communication being the key thing. It's fine to step off your patrol temporarily but if you don't communicate then that's exactly when victims capitalize like what you said!

🤣the whole point of the killers is to hold the victims hostage. YOU'RE A VICTIM YOU'RE ALREADY BEING HELD HOSTAGE from the start of the game. Victim have to work together & TRY to escape. Victims aren't supposed to get a garunteed escape. I agree with your points💯

This just in! Victim player finds out that Family can choose to actually *not* waste time with a tank and instead just defend objectives, which is their entire goal, calls it "holding the game hostage"! Tom what do you think of this?

Family house only 4 ways out of basement. Nancy, hitchhiker, cook, exterior alarms, locks on all 3 doors out, traps on staircases and gaps. You can 100% keep victims downstairs with almost 0 issues, or they die immediately because they will hit multiple traps while being attacked.

I think that's a fair point to bring up. That trio on Family House certainly is a recipe for disaster. You almost have to go for a window play in that scenario if you want to have a chance and open up the map a bit more.

@skeletoasty just getting to the window can be a nightmare. Hitch trap at top of leatherface lair staircase, then Nancy traps across the doorways, hitch trap in front of window or outside of window or both. You're outside, but already dead lol.

One of my main problems is that the victims control the pace of the game. The only way it's family sided is if there is an early kill. So, a family hostage situation sounds like a team playing the game correctly 😂

@@holy9781 yeah this is sometimes problematic for victims. Not sure how they could change that really. Unless there is some sort of Gpa level 1 requirement before anyone but LF enters the basement

I'm currently in a match where the three Family won't kill me. Just stay on my tail. and I'm not going to bleed out. So they're forcing a DC. I don't have the ability to run away from a Scout HH. So what exactly am I supposed to do? I can't die from well drops easily.

Probably just a bad case of poor word choice on the original tweeter's(?) behalf if I had to guess, but everyone who aggressively complains and gets nasty about it needs to remember that it's literally just a video game. At the end of the day, it's not a big deal and there will be more matches. You'll run into people who do enjoy and thrive for the competitive side of it, and you'll run into people who (like me) honestly just casually play it on occasion for the lore or for the sake of something different. Just relax people, it's honestly okay if all the victims survive a round you play as family, or if you die as a victim, or if something doesn't go your way. It's okay if the other people on your team are highly competitive or aren't on mic at all (I never use mic and I honestly enjoy it more that way anyway). Play the game as you like to play it, and don't be scummy about it to others. It's not that hard, I promise. 💞

As long as these 3 are making attempts to attack Victims though then I find it hard to call that holding the game hostage. if the family truly is not attacking or anything, then I think that would be a fair accusation.

I actually dispise those that just troll after opening exits. Worst kind of players. Especially those that do it after an instant DC on family side like just leave you know it's over, they know it's over so just go. This is regardless of what I'm playing victim or family. Tbh if I'm Victim and I see someone trolling and not being on the other side of electric grid I'll turn it back on if its possible for family member to get them if they are nearby

Yeah I feel the same. I get maybe going for a gpa stab on your way out to snag some extra XP but no sense trolling the family who already had a miserable game. And yeah goes both ways really. Never seen anyone turn the electric grid back on but I like the idea! I'll keep that one in mind for next time lol.

I wanted to make a correction I'm not sure if you knew experienced cook hitch duos or even random can lock/trap literally every single objective so you saying there's more objectives than family isn't valid if the family knows how to effectively spam family focus with all traps/locks placed great video tho keep it up I'm gonna drop a sub

I sorta went on a rant but I think that is a fair point that while there are more objectives than Family members, traps and such do certainly make getting to those objectives harder! If you have a team of 3 family who knows how to play the game nobody will get out 99 percent of the time me and my buddy do it family has stun immunity for 10 seconds after a stun which gives you 10 seconds of free time to gaggle bang the victims if you patrol the exit as a team nobody gets out ! If you are trash we will farm points on the family and flush the toilet until you rage but we come from day one and understand both sides of the game and like I said patrol they have to come to you

Agreed! The only exception I'd make is if Family was bodyblocking and intentionally not attacking. But even then, I've yet to see that.

What I hate and feel is cheap is when hitch mains use all traps around Grandpa. We do have bomb squad but it is limited. Same as bone knives. Hitch can reset his trap unlimited.

Yeah you're right about that. Grandpa trapping is very powerful when it is successful as it's very tough to prevent. Basically just have to stab as fast as you can or quickly rush another objective once you realize it's happening. Would maybe be nice if they made it so you couldn't put traps SUPER close to Grandpa.

Family cannot hold the game hostage. The Family’s goal is to prevent the victims from escaping and the victim’s job is to escape. If you are running around the basement and actively not trying to escape as victims then you are holding the game hostage.
