My second attempt at finding a job as an editor. join me in my journey of learning how Ghibli edits together their movies and how I applied them to my own process for video editing.

Solid video. I honestly like the slower pace you took to editing the video. It contrasts heavily with the uber fast paced edits that is the norm now a days. I think you'll find a creator who shares the same sentiment. Subbed.

You could definitely go the Hayden Hilllier-Smith route and do editing tutorial content for Minecraft creators. It’s very niche and not a lot of competition. You grow your channel, grow your portfolio, then you make some cash from ad sense. Then potentially get hired quicker as an editor full time. Food for thought. Keep it up I’d love to see more of your videos!

Next you should do SolidarityGaming! Sometimes he has people edit his top comment videos, I bet he would hire you if you sent him one of these!

Quick tip, when you write your message to them tell them that you are an editor in the subject bar. They must get a lot of emails on the regular, if they don't even know you then they won't care to even look at your 'Quick Question'

Great job. Though I think I remember reading somewhere that one of the hermits said they wouldn't agree to let someone onto the server if they didn't do their own editing, at least for Hermitcraft videos. Their own projects it was fine.

YOOO FELLOW MEDIA STUDIER?!?! I SAW YOUR JOEL VIDEOS AND THEN THE THUMBNAIL OF THIS VIDEO AND WENT "Oh wow, This is a recognizeable series" outside of the title, the Fonts and numbers looks similar to grian's, which is always consistent I might be over analyzing this, but cause you're analyzing gibli editing, i might have a pardon for nerding out about thumbnails lmaoo

Keep making more of these videos!! I enjoy editing, occasionally play minecraft and a sucker for a good film accompanied with an explainer video about the film haha. I think you should just pursue YT as a creator instead . You won’t monetize it immediately, but I have a feeling you have something good going already

tbh, i dont think any of the hermits are gonna hire anyone to edit hermitcraft no matter how talented or willing an editor is. There is a tweet from doc back in 2020 that said he doesn't think 3rd party editors work for the type of content they do on the server, though im not sure if the sentiment still stands. However, I do think this series is a very good excerise for studying and improving editing and i do admire your efforts. This ghibli-eque editing with a lot of establishing shots for world building is actually what Bdubs has been doing this season and i do think it works very well. I hope you can find a creator that jives with your goal. I'm sure this series will lead to someone reaching out to you even if its not a hermit.

Wow that's pretty cool. I can't do video editing unfortunately but what i can tell you is that zoom/pan shot is a bit "chunky", it would be smother if you chose a parabolic motion for the camera. Keep it up!

This was amazing! though, if i can get one piece of advice, when you're animating the Png characters your adding stretch for motion. There is a principle for that in animation, its called squash and stretch. You're missing the swash part. So, as you stretch your character you should also pull it down vertically. Think as the character gets wider or fatter it needs to get shorter. This principle helps keeps characters mass the same. If your interested in someone who can explain it better than me and also learn more principles I recommend this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3XUm3yafpmVfJY Again I don't want to give you advice you didn't ask for but I thought this might be helpful for you next video :). Can't wait to see it btw
