@@GMpiece Is it not the grace of God that we come to Christ and ask? In the same manner that we come to the cross to repent when we were blind to the beauty of Him moments ago? In my understanding God is in control over even the free will of man. The crucifixion did not depend on God waiting for Judas to decide if he will betray Yeshua. God hands people over to their sin, hardens their heart or softens it. I believe yes, we must will to change and turn from all our sins but its God who sanctifies and leads us to arrive at that desire by His grace. Satan who is the most evil, can't do anything apart from the will of God and needs permission. Jesus has full authority both on Earth and in Heaven. In the same way God can be the Father Holy Spirit and Son while there is only one God without contradiction, i believe man can have free will and our free will is subjective to Gods will entirely without contradiction.

This confirms what the Lord spoke to me. I was praying that He would heal her heart and her mind. I asked if she would ever come to a place where we could be happy together. The immediate impression that came back was an emphatic “No!” He said, “I want to heal her, but her free will prevents it.” He also said, “The reason you’re having such a hard time getting over her is that you don’t trust me. You believe the enemy’s lie that you will never find love again.” That was the turning point for me when I began to really heal. My husband grew up in an Narcissistic family system. All the members have a streak of narcissism and the whole system operates on denial, manipulation and all the vises of narcissism. My husband was emerged in the system and yes he was also a narcissist. In adulthood he became the scapegoat of the family after challenging the status quo and not complying with the group on everything. A severe faultfinding campaign with blame and accusations was lunched against him and myself. At first we were in total shock and fog for awhile. Then God lead me to an article on scapegoating and narcissistic abuse. I started studying everything on the topic. I explained to my husband what was going on in the family system and about narcissism. He first acknowledge the narcissistic traits in his family members and then slowly but surely he started to see how he was also formed by the system as a narcissist. Over time of studying the material on how to cope within this kind of bulling/abusive situation, he grow such an aversion to the abuse and sickness of narcissism. He does not want any of his families narcissist traits in himself. Now he is working on a daily basis to heal and transform these patterns. Praise God his rock fell on my husband and my husband fell on the Rock!

No offense but a narcissist family system won’t shape someone into having npd. Narcissist personality disorder is a fixed personality that doesn’t change. He could have narcissistic/ selfish traits like me and you and everyone but npd is a whole different animal that some are born with and some may get in childhood. But they usually aren’t the scapegoat. The scapegoat role I know ,it’s someone like me who is strong , independent, and wants justice , truth , which it sounds like he also wanted by challenging. Sounds like an empath / co dependent. Hopefully you aren’t the one.

I just learned that I’m a covert narcissist a few days ago. I went to therapy for depression and anxiety, but narcissism never came up. It’s troubling to know that I have to rethink the feelings I had towards people I “believed” I loved. I want to change, and it’s a matter of trying to overlook my ego and be willing to rebuild those relationships. Right now it's awkward because I'm learning to choose my words wisely, analyze my motives, and manage my emotions. Get out while/if you can! Believing the narc will change is a waste of your life. The church does not know enough about personality disorders to give any helpful advice. That leads to encouraging women to “be a better wife” as a solution. Grrr!
@happydillpickle3 жыл бұрын
And the church sometimes gives bad advice to men too..."stay with her, pray with her, 'the family that prays together stays together', it's your role as provider/spiritual head of the household" etc... I think it's often difficult for people to admit there's a problem if the wife is a narcissist, especially the vulnerable/covert type, because those gender role stereotypes are very much alive in churches (and very open to abuse by narcissists), so people more often than not see that vulnerable, sweet, female public persona and believe that SHE is the target of her husband's "abuse", because the stereotype is very much of the "violent male" and his "female victim". Same in cases where there's a very dominant male narcissist: his dominance can often end up being justified or downplayed or explained away with those traditional gender role stereotypes. Again, people can see that narcissistic male as a strong provider, an excellent spiritual role model and mentor and see his wife as a covert narcissist, when in fact, she's actually in genuine pain due to his abuse. Because narcissists are experts on blame shifting, it can be very hard for people who are inexperienced in narcissism behaviour to know who is the narcissist abuser and who is the abused. Or indeed, to even acknowledge that there's a problem, especially when the narcissist does a lot of work in the church, so people don't want to believe that helpful, kind person is actually not all they claim to be.

Before I knew what narcissism was, I fantasized about the narcissistic people in my life -- particularly the ex -- having a sudden change of heart when they saw how humble and gracious I was. I was taught by my church that if a wife was faithful enough, prayed enough, and showed enough love, submission, and attention to her unbelieving husband, he would be won over to God and repent. I tried this approach for literally decades. It was like a spiritual and emotional torture for me, and apparently, I was never good enough to win him over. When he finally discarded me, I believe it was God allowing me to escape this bondage of a marriage, just as He allowed the Israelites to escape Pharoah. The bible verse that says that God hates divorce, was repeated frequently in my church. I believe that He does hate divorce, but He hates for His children to be in bondage even more. There is more scriptural evidence that He truly hates all of the evil that leads to divorce, making divorce (often) the only way a suffering spouse can be free. I wish my church had focused a bit on that! Mercy triumphs over judgement, it says so in James 2:13. He will have mercy on us rather than judging us for leaving any abusive relationship. Please remember this, dear sisters and brothers. 🙏
@anneliese27732 жыл бұрын
I struggle with the same topic. I don't want a divorce and I cannot even afford one. Jesus helps me staying sane. My husband is away, most of the time working. I learn to trust my Jesus and to listen to him. He is my true husband and I am his bride. I have found a treasure in him, that is worth everything. I would love to see my husband fall on the Rock "Jesus" and I pray for him, but in the meantime I am trying to do my best. When I go to Jesus in my devotional time, he gives me strength to build up me healthy boundaries and still be a spouse. When I'm dressed down, He builds me up again. I depend on God, not on my husband. God will be my judge, and my saviour!

@@EloraSelah I prayed and fasted for my husband to change, but he would not. I knew if we didn't divorce that one of us was going to die and the other one was going to jail. I didn't want to do either. God has called us to peace, and we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (Read I Cor. 7 and others). I was a Christian at the time, and I did not think it was possible for God to approve a divorce without adultery. But surprisingly, He helped me make that decision. Moreover, after the divorce, my ex-husband revealed to one of our sons that he had been a serial cheater throughout the marriage even while accusing me of the same. Nice, huh? As far as remarriage, if it is God's will, He will bring a proper mate; in the meantime, I am retired and enjoying my peace in His service. Shalom.

If God did as you say, he would be a monster. God is not a monster. you have an enemy who wants to destroy you and he can do a good job by Christian magical thinking and attributing God for the the “allowance” of hitting rick bottom. We really need to know who the enemy is. We can worship the true God when we know who His nature is God. All else is from the wicked one.We don’t wrestle against God but against the powers of darkness.

He’s moved on to someone else, I wish him nothing but the best and pray that God can reach his soul like he did for me. When I say this to him…he says oh now you’re the perfect angel?! Thank you for explaining this so well! My takeaway nuggets of truth... "It takes an intervention from God to humble them.... to break thru their barrier of pride to get to the real issue, which is shame... but God will never intrude on the free will of a person... though He may influence circumstances in a narcissist's life to expose their heart and motivate him/her to ask for healing... they need to be called out on their behavior, confronted and exposed, as Jesus did with the Pharisees... but this can be dangerous for us to do; it may be best to step back, pray for them, and trust God to work miracles... nothing is impossible with God!"

It was unmistakably God that led me to this video. My husband is a narcissist. It's been 8 years of a crazy roller coaster and I've been near giving up. I prayed and fasted three days to get a clear answer from God on what to do. Two messages I know God clearly spoke to me in those days. Don't quit. And continue to pray. To be honest I kinda rolled my eyes in frustration and exasperation. But I repented and have been doing as instructed. This video gave me so much hope. Because of an ongoing legal situation we have to live apart. I've been spending more time than I ever have in my word and praying. I chose to focus on God's promise to keep me in perfecf peace if my mind is stayed on Him. I've been forcing myself to focus on God and not my husband. The legal issues finally forced me to get out of God's way. To stop trying to fix my husband. God doesnt need my help! I've been feeling like I'm weak and a pushover for not walking away. For even entertaining the idea of coming back together. But I genuinely love my husband. Ive known him over 30 years. He was my high-school swewtheart. And I know the person he is today is not him. There is a compassionate person in there. He's frightened. Broken. Insecure. I want to see him free and healed! I'm so thankful for what you shared. I feel free and like I am on the right track. To God be the glory! Thank you for being obedient on His call to your life!!!

I have a daughter who is a narcissist. I even hate calling them that, because it places them in a category with the mentally ill, and their not! Narcissism isn't a mental disorder, it is a fraocious spirit that has entered a person willingly, or unwillingly, due to a high level of pride. The evil they do is 100% demonic. I've seen these people do things, as well as say things, that only a demon could of known or done. This might also be the reason they believe their powerful, and on a higher plank then the general public. It's VERY hard when it's your children, because I love her, and I know she's ToTALLY helpless against adversity; and as a mother, I feel sorry for her and my grandkids, but I have to step away and allow her to go through her own trials and tribulations. I will no longer rescue her. I have TOTALLY given her over to God, and I hope she will repent. Im no longer no where around her, and I'm praying my grandkids will be free from narcissism, because she's training them to be just like her.

I love and forgave him, and trust that he will surrender to Christ. For now I have to take care of my sanity and my health. X

My narcissistic husband admits he has a problem and we do couples therapy, i think it depends how far there narcissism is on the spectrum. Sometimes miracles happen! Thank God!

Yes, narcissism indeed falls on a spectrum and is not a black and white thing. I'm so glad to hear that your husband is doing couples therapy with you. Thank you God!! 🙏🏽😊🤗

@@ShaneenMegji Saddly my husband showed his true colors once again, i had so much hope, i am so sad, i've been praying for him for a long time, brought him to healing masses(catholic Christian) went to therapy with him, but at night when i was sleeping he would wonder in the streets and smoke pot, not sharing that with me and got into rages infront of the kids and myself. My husband was diagnosed 10 yrs ago as a narcissist but i think he might also be bipolar. Now im seperated from him and im leaving him to God, praying for him is all i can do. I have unexplained health problems that sometimes get severe, and i've been a stay at home mom for 10 yrs with 4 kids, i know im doing the right thing even though i have no income, first in life we need to take out the toxic people., i put all my trust in God and God is my refuge and my only Savior, i know he will help me. Thankyou so much Shaneen for your video's the one with the branch and tree metaphor is the one that gave me the strenght to release him out of our lives, may God bless you.😊

My husband repented Like 3 times, and last Dec I told him to leave, he is not changed at all, had a double life and I found it out. God told me clearly, get out of the way, so I told him go leave, now he is in God's hands

Distance yourself from the narcissist. You are not his Savior. Jesus is King. God does not need you to save this person.

thank you so very much. This information was very helpful. Probably the most helpful information that I have encountered thus far in my journey. I was able to break away from my narcissist and create a healthy and safe space between us. Having gone no contact, my life has returned to normal, my health been restored and my sanity returned. I know that judgement has been carried out and pray that she be humbled. I pray to see her healed more than anything in the world. I want to share this with her but like you said that we need to get out of God's way and let him get involved. I did everything that I could and that was more than enough. Again thank you for your insight and explanation, you may have helped save another soul. God bless

THANKS so much for sharing this message. I felt my heart being hardened because I began to believe that there was absolutely no hope for change in my marriage covenant with my wife who displays Narcissistic behavior. Now, I'm challenged to always remember that with God ALL things are possible and that He alone can heal, deliver, and set free whoever Humbly desires change in His time. THANKS again and much Love to you and your family. 💯💞 God Bless!😁🙏🏽

Excellent!! So grateful! Confirmation for years of prayer. I needed a true believer to speak regarding this subject. Although I appreciate all the podcasts of others, and I have learned from each. Still, I needed a biblical response. Thank You so much! I am greatly encouraged that God is in control, and I am hearing His voice.😍🙏🏻✝️🌷

Thank you so much for your channel. My wife and I suffer from narcissistic abuse from a daughter-in-law. But as Christians we want to have biblical response and solutions. Thank you so much for the balance that you offer for Christ's followers....

From my personal experience with a narcissistic (now-ex-) husband, this video contains SO, SO MUCH TRUTH!

I love your notion of God's "tough love" to humble the narcissist. Tough, but love nevertheless. The same love honors the free will of the narcissist. Perhaps the biggest lesson for spiritual recipients of narcissistic abuse is to be HUMBLE enough to realize that it is not "our" love that heals, but that we need to step aside and let the Holy Spirit do the work. Interestingly enough, as we realize and embrace that humility, we mirror that possibility back to the narcist. Of course humility and narcissism are like fire and ice. It's hard to set a frozen heart on fire.

I love what you said about being humble enough to accept that our love cannot heal a narcissist, but to step aside and let the Holy Spirit do the work. So true. God bless you. 🙏🏽🕊

This is EXACTLY what I did, left the narcissist and left him in God's hands, God guided me out of a very abusive marriage and now live in peace, my ex husband will never have that blessing he lost soul and gets pleasure seeing someone in pain, and I think the reason is that they under neath it all live in constant pain, he doesn't look like he does but his steel armour so tight around him that no one will ever know, have handed him over to God and thank God with all MY HEART for walking and guiding me through this whole process with years and years of total heartache, now it's me who feels sorry for him cause I now have PEACE and joy.

You are the FIRST to address the hurting and not just those who get hurt. Finally someone mentioning, not just describing the symptoms incessantly of the narcissist. Yes, God loves all the afflicted. Do we only ever talk protection for the caregiver of a cancer patient, ignoring the hurting, hopeless person with cancer? Are we warning caregivers to practice self-care to the point of separating the relationship they had with the one suffering horribly by the symptoms and effects of a fatal cancer. The needy person with cancer also affects relationships around them. Is your advice for the caregiver to walk away for their own protection too?
