What works in the cage works in the street 98% of the time. GSP also said that when it comes to fighting, he strikes first. Also, military experience does not mean superiority in a hand to hand combat.

Very good point, Jocko Willinks told the story of how every morning he would sub 20 Navy seal teammates as a warm up. Even Seal team members don’t stand a chance in hand to hand grappling if they’ve never trained in grappling. Sticking would be the same thing.

most "self-Defence" martial arts do not have enough pressure testing and being an mma athlete means you are able to beat most of the normal population unless they have a weapon such as a knife. a professional athletic MMA guy would most probably beat a normal person even drunk. the only scenario where this guy is right is when you get sucker punched or hit from behind however, when adrenaline is high, even if they hit you in the nuts, you wont feel the pain instantly, you'll just have the instinct to fight, you will feel the full pain later after the fight is over, talking from experience. Love your videos bro keep it up.

Thanks brother, appreciate the support. GSP said in sefl defence vid actually, its the element of surprise that is the most important in a street altercation. The one who sets up the other and catches him off guard will have a huge advantge, still, you'd have to rock the person hard if their well trained or they might just get angry and now its an all out death match. ahahahah

Nice video. Some people forgot that GSP started is martial arts journey with a black belt in karate and then learned other arts. He's a true Mixed Martial Artist with 4 black belts in addition to other techniques he learned (wrestling, muay thai, etc.) If he cannot defend himself in whatever situation life brings to him nobody can. To his detractors, I'll use one his famous quotes "Are you insane in thr brain!?" 😂
@clintwarren70319 ай бұрын
If GSP is not included in the set of all people who can adequately defend themselves then the set of all people that can adequately defend themselves must be vanishingly small. Dude's argument is tantamount to saying four people on the planet can adequately defend themselves.

no one is invincible, i think that's what he's trying to communicate kinda, which is true, we're all human and the human body is fragile..ish. Where i think he gets it wrong is thinking all mma athletes aren't martial artist, some aren't, but some are, the one who are also think about self-defence as well. They too are humans who got into martial arts to learn how to defend themselves.

Depends, how do it feel now when you drop on your knees? It might be possible with some rehab and a lot of strength and stability work and the use of knee pads.

@@rtxk-uf6pb you’re young so you’ll recover fast, then its all about rehab then getting all the muscles and tendons surrounding that knees super strong and stable. But talk to a sports doctor and see what they tell you. Tons of athletes comes back from knee injuries. If you do the right things you’ll be able to Judo again no problem.

Simple answer - there are ONLY two things that can be done while fighting for the most part...its called striking and grappling. So train striking martial arts and grappling martial arts, with that you will be able to defend yourself against 99% of people in the world.
@OGFITNESS9 ай бұрын
Self defence is overblown, if you can strike and grapple, i just have to remind you that you can kick the nuts, poke the eyes, bite, use anything at your disposal as a weapon, keep your head on a swivel so you can look around and not get caught off guard. De-escalating is essentially swallowing your ego and making it clear you dont wanna fight and walk away. Multiple attackers requires some strategy and tactics but really nothing too fancy, do you best to not be surrounded, stick and move, don’t go to the ground, if you do, get up quick, run away to line them up if possible, deck one at a time. If you’re stuck in a closed of space, then go into kill mode , embrace death and go out on your shield and die an honorable death. Osu!

-GSP fights people who also know how to fight on a pro level. Why wouldnt he be able to defend against someone who isnt a top tier athlete and more than likely doesn’t know how to fight? People who actually know how to fight dont just randomly attack people so chances are our “bad guy” isnt a high level fighter, which GSP would have a field day with. 😂😂😂

Exactly, anyone who has such low a opinion of mma athletes makes me think it’s stems from insecurity, ego, false bravado or they’re just brainwashed into think that what they are doing is better. 🤷♂️😂
