To understand another reason why South indian movies are flourishing in Northern states we need to go back to decade before, when Hindi Movie Channel started increasing telecasting South indian movies dubbed in Hindi more frequently to that extend that Bollywood pictures are now rarely telecasted on such channels. This gave the northern indian audience especially from smaller/medium level cities and rural India the taste and the flavour of South cinema entertainment. Kids who watched these channel a decade ago are now teenagers/adults and have the taste/hunger for the South cinema. You may thank to Set Max, Zee Cinema etc channels for helping South indian cinema to reach every home.

The truth that we, South Indians, can't ignore is.. South Indian movies are being called Indian movies only after Bahubali (let us be honest, though Malayalam movies were so good and innovative even before the pre-Bahubali-phase, no one tried to own them as Indian movies).. prior to that phase, only Bollywood movies were projected as Indian movies and it was a well-known fact that how crazy people (especially actresses/heroines and no offense, but some South actors too) were about Bollywood.. I'm glad that OTT has changed the perspective of most of the people and movies like KGF, Pushpa, RRR, Vikram continued the legacy of crores-minting-South-INDIAN movies after Bahubali (of course, some couldn't)..

And I always see introduction of new actors or actresses... The Don and gangster things is far realistic in South films as compare to Bollywood ... And in Bollywood they often cast the same old actors... I haven't really seen the introduction of new one and those that are introduced are still not on point ... Eg. Like preity zinta, kajol, Rani Mukerji no new actresses have really beat them... And I do have huge respect for classical and the 2000s Bollywood film .. story line were awesome during those time. But till to this days I have always seen sarukkhan, Akshay Kumar, Salman khan but no new face ... Rajkumar Rao , Siddharth, Varun etc are some new faces ig... But story line always suck. And South actor and actress are really down to earth as compare to most actor or actresses from Bollywood.

This is a welcome change. A part of the reasons that Bollywood is failing so badly is because they aren't bringing anything new on the table. For example, I grew up watching Salman khan and shahrukh khan as heroes but at some point of time, i no longer saw them as heroes, better actors yes but not heroes. Bollywood needs to embrace the change and promote new people into the industry.

No Bollywood movie can match the screenplay of RRR. South movies are misogynist and showing toxic masculinity which Bollywood also does, but what they have done right is the narration, the storytelling, the screenplay and the most important background music. Malayalam were always known for picking unique realistic story lines and do it well in really low budget. Tamil had great directors, music composers and lyricists. K Balachander movies were very progressive, modern with excellent cast and storylines. Telugu now definitely rocks in big budget arena. even for dumb storylines, they have amazingly aesthetic visuals.

According to me people are moving away from Bollywood, just because while giving interview they disrespect mediapersons, who are a type of representatives of general public. Along with these they are becoming totally detached from Indian roots, where you don't get to see you and me but some alien personality . Infact in some webseries too much English is used than Hindi, which gives you the notion that do we middle class really speak this much English at home while conversing with dear ones? There is a difference between being at office and being at home among your own people. Why are people forgetting English is the language of our colonizers not us. Knowing English does not mean superiority, it's just another language. And English is a necessity only for office and not our life, which different from West in every aspect.

Today Bollywood's movies have objective to convert people into specific political ideology, be it right wing or left wing, so the entertainment is not the priority here which used to be primary aspect in old Bollywood. And then chasing Hollywood, they are not considering Hollywood as their rival anymore, they are literally in favour of them. Bollywood isn't making movies for Indians anymore, they are in pursuit of pleasing foreign audiences.
