I am a Kashmiri Pandit and my mother personally knows Achint and his family. She also immediately called her friend (Achint's sister) as soon as she saw this. The acount that Achint has given is NOTHING compared to how horrifyingly his father was assassinated. He was tortured the entire night (with cigarette butts etc.), his house was surrounded by Islamic terrorists and his father was later found in a dry well the next day. He was so young when this happened and my mother recalled everything as soon as she heard what I was watching! I am absolutely shattered by how some people did not let him talk about his viewpoints. This Middle Ground video represents the political situation of the country very well nowadays and how absolutely DIFFICULT it has become to express viewpoints and even state facts. At the same time, I am nothing but PROUD of Achint and the way he spoke. He was an absolute gentleman, so soft spoken and my heart cries for him because he was surrounded with such insensitive people. THIS IS EXACTLY what infuriates Kashmiri Pandits in this country. I am glad we still take our space, even though exactly like some people here would not want us to do that.

Apologising and being apologetic are 2 different aspects. Feeling apologetic does not mean that you directly caused a problem but you feel remorse and shame for what happened to the other person. I find it strange when Pallavi started discussing about how Hindus should apologise or feel remorse for Mosques being burnt. Why should a Hindu who has not caused a Mosque to burn be made to feel apologetic? The rules change when it’s the other way round isn’t it? Double standards much 🤷‍♀️ A middle ground can only ever be attained when a community is objective and is able to introspect within rather than solely celebrating victimhood. If someone from your community makes a mistake or commits a crime in the name of the religion that is wrong and that action would have ruined someone’s life so yes be apologetic about it and condemn what that person from your community did. That is the mature, objective and truly unbiased way to deal with sensitivity.

When I studied in mumbai in school i remember one of my troubled classmates who had to change schools due to psychological reasons. She was elder by few years and her uncle and mother tried hard to make her fit . She was very apprehensive and wouldn't talk. Few years ago connected with her on Facebook . We chatted and turns out she is super friendly . I asked her why was she soo weird in school and what i heard has broken my heart . As a young child her father , her uncle and grandfather were chopped and thrown in a well and she and her sister was molested and rape. The twin sister couldn't survive because her orifices bled and got infected .her mother and aunties faced similar torture with her aunty dying due to internal haemorrhage and mother gangraped. It was a miracle how she and her mother escaped and reached Jammu to her mamaji. She was soo traumatised that for years she couldn't go to school . She started 4th grade with us after long break in mumbai where her other mamaji lived . We always felt she was too tall too fair and too older than us when we were kids and she was picked up a lot by bullies but hats off to whatever she survived

She was being completely statistical. She wasn't letting others speak. She spoke with Ali when he dismissed Anchit's trauma. She said that a few people don't represent an entire community But then was questioning the whole hindu community when the ram mandir case was brought up. I think Kabir was the wisest And the most compassionate person in that room. There should have been more talks between him and Anchit.

She made fair points, as did others. I don't clearly understand why did she/her words get under your skin. I am not Indian, but it seems this might have something to do with her being vocal of what's happening in India post-2014.

i mean, she stated false historical records & as soon as Achint mentioned the record of temples demolished in kashmir, she and the other guy were like “so we’re keeping records now?” (Various materials have been found during excavation which suggest the presence of a Hindu structure beneath. Also, The Supreme Court noted that the Babri Masjid was not built on a vacant land and the excavated underneath structure was not Islamic in nature)

Settling score is an English expression which means entirely different thing than keeping records. Someone had done you wrong, and you are doing him wrong now in return is "settling scores". On to your point of excavation: If there is a Mosque in place, how come you could excavate there. You must demolish it first to see if there is anything else underneath. Isn't it?

@@shoeb434 and obviously, everything in our history is noted so it is important that we mention the “scores” the amount of times Hindus have been exploited is just depressing and I know that people from all religions live here peacefully now but it still hurts us because of all that our ancestors had to go through & YET WE ARE SUFFERING.
