When Sam says Fenrir counters He Bo, it seemed like Sam made He Bo look like a counter to Fenrir. He's just too damn good.

Yea, his opponent was making some very questionable plays. I do think that Sam would have won anyway against a more experienced player on Fenrir, but it would probably be more of a challenge.

Yeah because you get like 3 cool downs when you pop med and horn, that has nothing to do with skill and everything to do with items 🙄

He is skilled but the build definitely played a huge part early game, my mans was able to pop his 1st ability 3 times in a row back to back 0 cooldown, that's a Lotta fucking damage in a level 3 fight early game which allowed him to easily outbox anyone early and get ahead

It seems like it might be somewhere in between. He's skilled, so he comes up with good build ideas. Also, he's skilled, so he puts said build to better use than someone of my skill level would be able to.

My friend who showed me smite, was making a point that counters aren't everything in smite and skill matters more. we played me on fenrir and he was hebo. I got destroyed bc I was inexperienced. Lesson learned!

Sam, I'd like to just correct you on Bancrofts Talon right quick. The nerf to Attack Speed items has made the investment of 600 gold for 12% Attack Speed actually pretty good, even though you only have 6% of that without any lost health. I know it's not ideal, and I personally would probably buy at least 1 ring before upgrading my Bancrofts, for some who go from Bancrofts, to defense, to Ring 1... The 12% Attack Speed coming sooner is a good pay off for them.

It absolutely does tho. I've seen Sam lock the Big Bad Wolf and absolutely destroy people that pass all bans to play He Bo. It's just that this particular opponent wasn't the most skilled in piloting the Fenrir (and the fact that he wasn't leveling his 3 also had a huge impact on it).

@Luis Gustavo 3 into the semi auto shotgun mage with a knockup and a dash and dash/ult 🤣 Sam is a great player, he can beat ass with any God. Yes this player wasn't great but Fenrirs 3 isn't a %100-%0hp on Hebo unless you're careless and let Fenrir get ahead.

@@Zzucc He Bo having a knockup is irrelevant since Brutalize cannot be stopped by it. I agree that Fenrir's 3 is by no means a 100% to 0% or a guaranteed win, but I reckon it has a greater chance at shutting the He Bo than any other god I can think of the top of my head rn.

@Luis Gustavo you just save the knockup and dash for after brutalize. Not a foreign concept in smite. There's plenty of times when you wait before doing something in order to evade/survive an ability. It's far from irrelevant.

@Luis Gustavo I will state that the stats for them in that link isn't that relevant because all those stats are against all the gods in the game and I definitely agree Fenrir is extremely powerful against most of the games match ups as a whole and I was just saying that fenrir isn't basically free hebo elo 🤭 Also even in this video he does mention that Hebo is OP in his own right aswell But yeah, always happy to have a good conversation and I hope you have a good night : )
