Can I beat Gran Turismo 5 WITHOUT SPENDING a single credit?

Hello, friends! Welcome back to the Impossible Challenge series! Today we're going to tackle Gran Turismo 5, the first entry on the PS3 - this game operates VERY differently from the previous ones by incorporating A-Spec level restrictions on events. Can we use that to our advantage to beat the game without spending any credits?! Only one way to find out!

Re: "bridge to gantry" - when you do a touristfahrten lap, the entrance and exit is on the döttinger-höhe straight (the long one) so it's never possible to do a full lap flat out as you either need to leave at the gate or slow down massively on the straight (usually with a cone or tyre chicane) so that the closing speeds are less dangerous. Hence they time only that part of the lap.

Great video, was really waiting for it and it didn’t disappoint! On a side note, I love when GT had those quirks like putting some sort of spaceship in the list of possible opponents, like a 900hp+ 800kg monster, that has like 300hp more and 200kg less than the 2nd best car :D

hey, I’m very much enjoying these challenge runs that you’re doing, the blend between commentary and gameplay is pretty good and was enough to have me hooked. i noticed you started adding background music in, which I do like, however my personal suggestion would be to include the game-specific menu music as GT5s menu music for example is nice and jazzy/loungey, and somewhat similar to the MacLeod track you were playing in this one. wonder what the next challenge will be, considering i’m pretty sure it’s impossible to not buy a car in GT6..

Did you play GT5 when it came out! Yes I very much did. I had it delivered on the day of release and then spent a lot of time waiting for the damn thing to install because that's what we did in the Playstation 3 days Was it your first Gran Turismo game? No. How did you feel about it? Disappointed. It felt like there were so many broken promises, and some things that were unfinished, even before we get to the PS2 assets. I found the single player to be lacking and more than a bit grindy so I ended up doing that one race at indianapolis about a hundred times. Aside from that, it's still Gran Turismo, there's still a joy in finding cool cars and getting them setup so they feel just right, and the additions of weather and day/night cycle made online messing about with friends so much fun.

You sound like me - I did the Nascar Indy race a zillion times to level up. I think GT5 was still kind of a step up from 4 but 6 is a disaster comparatively

@@djbrohawk yes there is a mod released called Project A-Spec (links and videos on my channel link in bio) it adds a bunch of new cars and balances already existing ones as well as altering the price of a few cars to be purchasable from the get to (Peugeot 106 for example) I’ll also mention I’m not a developer for the mod I just offer tech support for those who need assistance getting setup

Btw, best of luck installing GT6+ updates. It’s massively bugged and just strait up doesn’t work. Seek guides on the net before starting, like NO JOKE do it. I did and even still, after 3 ENTIRE DAYS of trying, I gave up.

GT6 is going to FORCE you to buy an Honda. But, if you don't want to use it, and basically make this purchase meaningless, if you've got the anniversary edition, you'll get a lot of gift cars, or do the special events or licenses for cars.

5:57 Somehow still not as frustrating as the GT7 “quips” from the license instructors lol. Yes, I know I’m struggling, yes I already looked at the demo, please just be quiet and let me bang my head on the S license wall. EDITS- 12:00: Going to go high and guess 55 attempts total from the 5 challenge series, 11 attempts per challenge. Each segment plus the full lap is going to be painful, and I’m assuming the full lap will be the one that takes the most attempts. (Post-numbers game remark in the comments to avoid “spoilers”, lol.) 39:03: GT5’s AI handles the rain just as poorly as you, don’t worry. You probably might’ve noticed your opponents pitting in at the first lap, and that’s because they don’t switch to their wet tires pre-race. The same thing goes for when you go from a wet race to a dry race; though you didn’t show it in your footage, I assume the bots instapitted on Lap 1 of the subsequent race lol. 41:38: *…Does he know?*

Driving in Nordschleife is not so hard if you do with a steering wheel. I did gold in the final Super License test of Gran Turismo 4 Japan edition that is with Sauber C9 easily, the margin for error is huge for make the time possible for people who will play with the gamepad.

now you should really challenge yourself and do this gt2/3/4 style and not do any of the special events, only stuff in the a spec menu and also, playing gt5 or 6 without having the servers up anymore kind of is a lackluster experience for me because like half of the game is the online seasonal events (which gives you a ludicrous amount of money for those that didnt know) and racing against others online lol
