Since he doesn't really use fire types in Gen 2 (except for Magby much later on in the baby challenge) he never really had a reason to get it which would make many forget. Hey MDB, little tip for if you plan on doing any more fire type runs in this game; You can actually get the Charcoal for free if you go back to the Cut guy's house after saving the Farfetch'd. Just head into the house that's in the bottom right corner of Azalea Town and he'll be in there. Just talk to him and he'll give you it for free. Should save you some money for future runs.

Part of the reason Snorlax could tank that Flamethrower so well was that rain KILLS the power of Fire Attacks. Should have used Crunch then. That why when you used Fire Blast later on the first was tanked with ease (It was raining) and second did more (It was no longer raining.)

History of Houndour/Houndoom, they were first discovered in Johto, listing them as a Johto Pokémon, however habitat loss means that you can only find them in Kano during Johto play throughs.

Seems the AI is somehow programmed to use rain dance to reduce fire moves power, it did help with the snorlax haha. And Chuck is programmed to go for Dynamic Punch or Surf haha

How about Final fantasy V with only “bad” jobs? The “bad” jobs being thief, bursurker, geomancer, beast master, dancer, and dragoon. Red mage might be fine, as it has no synergy with any of the other jobs mentioned, but maybe don’t use it immediately. Freelancer/base is fine until you get other jobs, as freelancer can get pretty powerful when you master jobs

A friendly FYI, there is a free charcoal in Azalea town after you do the farfetch’d chase and receive cut. You speak to the brothers in their house to the left of the gym and they reward a free one. Loved the vid!

Fire types are one of my favorites. For regular runs I always chose Cyndaquil. My first MDB-inspired run was a Fire-type-only run. The Steel gym was always easy for me for obvious reasons, so when I would hear that the Steel gym was hard it takes me a second to remember what non-Fire runs are like.

Yuuuus! Can't wait for the Ralts run next week. Ralts is one of my favorites from Gen 3. I hope one day you do an Absol run. I have personally done a couple solo Absol runs in different games and it's actually a lot of fun. He's strong, but being mono Dark can lead ya to some unexpected challenges. Pick any game you can use Absol, it doesn't matter, that would be a dream come true to me.
