Can I Beat POKEMON LEAFGREEN with Only GROUND-TYPE POKEMON??

Challenge Rules:
⦁ I can only use Ground-Type Pokemon.
⦁ Pokemon that evolve into Ground-Types are allowed.
'Hardcore Nuzlocke' Rules:
⦁ Only the first viable encounter per area is allowed.
⦁ Any fainted Pokemon must be released immediately.
⦁ No items in battle.
⦁ Battle mode must be kept on Set.
⦁ And no over-leveling past the next Gym Leader's Ace.

I'm glad to see a FRLG monotype run. Ground types are pretty cool, to bad that before gen 5, a lot of them had garbage accessible in-game movepools.

Focus Blast is like evasion: it only works for the opponent. Horn Drill is just sheer luck 😂😂

What do you mean it took you 10 tries to beat misty? I presume you mean it took 10 different games to beat her otherwise you wouldn’t have obliged to a rules of a hardcore nuzlocke

I personally don’t follow the ‘restart the whole game if you wipe rule.’ In my experience and opinion, it doesn’t make the game more difficult; it just makes it longer. Especially when you’re 2 Gyms in and haven’t lost any encounters. Nuzlocke rules are all arbitrary and self-imposed anyway. If you disagree, that’s fine, but that doesn’t make it not a Nuzlocke.

When you say you had to try multiple times to beat Lorelei, did you just reset to before the battle, or did you replay through the whole game to get back there?

I just reset to before the battle. Personally, I don’t see much value to replaying the WHOLE game when you wipe. The differences are minimal in most challenge runs (IVs, Natures, and EVs). Plus it takes so much more time. Maybe when I go full-time I’ll change that, but resetting to the most recent save helps me release my videos biweekly like I want.

i read the title I already knew it's gonna be easy. nidoking, the OG op pokemon, alone can solo the game ezpz. teach nidoking thunderbolt and ice beam

I LOVE both Nidos. Both are such good and well-designed Pokémon. If not for level caps, Nidoking would be unstoppable. What other 2 moves would you give him? Maybe I’ll do a Nidoking solo run for ya 😂

@@BerryNerdCorner nidoking suffers from the 4 slot syndrome, there are so many good moves it can learn. Personally I'd go with earthquake or earth power (gen4+) for stab and mega horn for coverage, I will substitute mega horn for sludge bomb (gen6+) for both stab and dealing with fairies.

Imagine how busted Nidoking and others would be with 5 or 6 moves though! That’s a good set though. I’ll see where I can fit in a Nidoking run into my schedule!

I dont know if dugtrio learns thief but if yes you could have stole the thick club for marowak from cubones. Also why dugtrio was pre damaged on the sabrina fight lol Cmon yes it was risky but you could have switched nidoqueen that resisted at least 2 or 3 fricking water Guns before he setted Rain dance,you could have another pokemon to take out pidegot to be ready for blastoise in the first place. And you could have risked a ice beam crit sacking onix instead of nidoking

1) I didn’t even think about getting a Thick Club! I’ll keep that in mind. 2) Um probably from a Gym Trainer. Sabrina’s puzzle is annoying, so I tend not to leave once I find her. 3) Nidoqueen doesn’t resist Water Gun, so I assume you mean survived lol. I definitely didn’t fight the rival or Lorelei optimally. I need to take more time to come up with a strategy or two for tough fights like that. Part of me wants to retry this run to see if I can do better.

I used to turn battle scenes off to make recording and editing go a bit faster. Plus, it’s less jarring when the footage is sped up. But I’ve gotten away from doing turning them off in my more recent videos.

I’ll keep that in mind! I’ve done it for many of my other videos, but it adds a bit more work keeping track of when it changes and making the background for when it does. I wanted to make this one a bit faster to edit, but most of my challenges will have the level cap on-screen.

Honestly I didn’t think of it. I don’t think of the Nidos as special attackers, even though their attack stats are almost equal. Maybe doing so would’ve made a difference, but probably not much. I’ll keep it in mind for future Nido uses.
