Pokémon: FireRed Version is an enhanced version of the original Pokémon: Red Version. Many glitches have been removed, and the random mechanics behind wild encounters have changed. This leads to very different strategies compared to our fastest runs on the original ( tasvideos.org/... ) generation ( tasvideos.org/... ) of games, and as a result, runs of this game see much more of the plot.
Watch as MKDasher ( tasvideos.org/... ) crushes this game using Clefable (the first evolved form of Clefairy) and lots of luck manipulation. This run improves the previous version by over 2 minutes by fighting most battles with Clefable instead of Squirtle and using Metronome (which picks a random move to use from all moves in the game) against the Elite Four.

TAS means it's a tool assisted speedrun tht can be run by both an IA that can calculate the critcs and metronome moves or can be used by a human and script frame by frame to get the perfect speedrun that is why its called TAS it stands for tool assisted speedrun

This is a Tool-Assisted Speedrun, which means the player can manipulate the numbers rolled on the background so they always hit a crit or get a high roll on damage. You may say it's cheating but offscreen it took many hours of frame by frame testing to guarantee favourable numbers, it's also meant as a way of showing a form of play otherwise impossible for humans.

I'll try to explain. But RNG can be manipulated through frame by frame inputs. Using a Tool Assisted Speedrun (TAS) hence the different menus opening and closing each battle you can force yourself to get perfect "RNG" I.E crits whenever you need them or quick claw procs whenever you need. Or even down to getting the right move from metronome then turning that move into a crit. See cloyster, slowbro and lapras from lorelei.
