I say this a lot, but Don's video's are genuinely some of the most creative gaming content on KZbin. Every single video is something new. Documentaries about pikmin, and entire animated story about kirby with a gun, and now some Mr. Rogers shit with your friend Shadow the Edgehog. It's like... WHAT??? Helping Don work out which routes to take and find the one route where you don't kill Eggman was sick. Edit: Clarifying, since Don was clearly too distracted to recognise my point in the video. I wasn't saying "this level isn't so bad", my point was that his patience was worn down and destroyed by the rest of the game, so it was affecting him WAY worse than it should have. And the fact we didn't get to the misunderstanding until over 40 minutes into a 1h video massively reinforces that.

26:57 what’s REALLY funny about this is that you accidentally went through the path that’s closest to being the “canon” one, since helping out vector, espio, and charmy allows them to use the discs you helped charmy obtain and the computer vector found in order to transmit gerald’s last words to shadow and break him out of black doom’s control in the true last story if vector could deal damage to black doom this could hypothetically be canon, with shadow only having to fight in the last way and devil doom

It's one of the closer ones to being possible. A bunch of events are canon, especially given some scenes of Shadow remembering them in the Last Story, but it's not possible to have All of them occur in one playthrough. (EG: You cannot do Cryptic Castle Hero, which dialogue shows is canon, while Also going to Mad Matrix to teach Charmy how to hack cyberspace, which he does in Last Story.) Personally, I'm curious what the route would be if they just made the game linear, with every stage playing out in a way that fits canon where applicable. I'd love to see a mod of that concept.

While the route as a whole is pretty good for a canon route, I feel like the ending he got on the Black Comet is probably the closest to an ending that leads into the true Last Story than any other ending in the game, given it ends on the Black Comet, doesn't involve either Black Doom or Sonic being defeated, and overall has the most ambiguous conclusion for Shadow's characterization, allowing the Last Story to pick up from there without issue. If we just assume that Shadow hurt Eggman rather than outright killing him, it leads perfectly into the Last Story. Either way, the game could conceivably have Shadow be a pacifist the whole time!

Route 037 is actually the canon path. Evidence from dialogue in the Devil doom fight as well as expert mode shows Shadow MUST help Cream, have Eggman lie about Shadow's past, and Finally General Abraham tries to shoot Shadow. There's also evidence in game that events that happen in other missions still take place without Shadow's involvement. For Example Sky Toops requires Black Doom to activate his ruins in order for them to fly in this mission, but Shadow would have been inside the cyberspace with Rouge during the time the ruins were activated. This proves Doom's army accomplished their goal without Shadow's help, and that Knuckles canonically fails to destroy the Black Arms if he's solo against them. Using context clues, you can figure out what events in other stages actually still happen without Shadow being involved in said mission.

Alright lets me get this straight - Shadow, having seen the pain and suffering that violence brings after GUN raided the ARK, swore himself to resolve the Black Arms invasion without taking a single life, no matter how many times he had to go back - Sonic is just being a massive racsist dick to the Black Arms (which would also involve Shadow since he was created with Black Dooms DNA) - Knuckles, the GUARDIAN of the Master Emerald on ANGEL Island, promised to protect Shadow no matter which way Shadow had to achive his goal because he belives in Shadow to find the perfect pacifist way eventually, and politely asking that one GUN soldier to step away from the bomb so Shadow could defuse it (also he probably came in off screen to save Cream and Cheese in Cryptic Castle because hes that much of a GOAT) - Espio, being able to sense Shadows resolve through some weird ninja, may not know the full extend of Shadows reason, but knows that he has to protect him from Eggman - Charmy, seeing Shadow as someone to idolize, also wants to be as cool as him so he becomes a pacifist aswell - Vector tries to help Shadow with all his might to achive his goal, even if he strong enough to get him there - Amy, seeing her former crush turn out to be fucking bigot who just runs away from his problems while Shadow is a headstrong man facing his problems head on and sticks to his beliefs, decides to go with him because she can feel everything will just turn out fine that way (yea the Don somehow found a way to make the Shadamy ship happen in the game) - Omega is...yea okay hes beyond violent...but atleasts its non-discrematory violence...he doesnt hate you for what you are, he just hates you for what you did...and if you attack Shadow then hes gonna riddle you with holes no matter who or what you are - And Tails, being sick of Sonic Twitter hate rants, goes to help the actual hero achive his wish for peace...but we should probably take him off TikTok, seems like brainrot is already getting to him CAN WE PLEASE LET THE DON DIRECT A SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG MOVIE? Fun Fact: Jason Griffith, the original voice actor, stated that the game was originally intended to contain Shadow droppin’ the f-bomb in every sentence (Or he recalls). He says that he had to do two takes for each line, because they didn’t know if the game was going get the M rating they intended for it. In the end, we never got that M rating, so we never got to hear those lines. He also said that there were *hours* of these voice lines. I’ve got two questions: 1. Do the robots really need to count for pacifist? You have no qualms about destruction in missions. With the exception of Omega I don’t think any of Eggman’s robots, G.U.N.’s robots, the artificial Chaos, or Shadow Androids would be counted as anything more than property damage that you’re already doing (Shadow Androids maybe because they could potentially be sentient). 2. Would the piloted mechs count either? Eggman’s and G.U.N.’s mechs are what you’re damaging. It’s like taking a baseball bat to someone’s car. You aren’t technically attacking someone so even if Eggman’s mech gets destroyed and he has to abandon it have you really attacked him?

Funnily enough, Omega is on his correct size, he's just a bit bigger than Shadow is, basically a Shadow and a half tall (considering Shadow is 100cm tall and Omega is 150cm tall). He isn't that big, and he is on his correct size in-game being just slightly bigger than Shadow, that's also his size on Heroes (both in-game and in the CGI cutscenes) and I'm pretty sure it's also his side anywhere else and he's just slightly bigger than Shadow anywhere he appears

Hitting the first two slots still damages the Dealer without risking hurting Eggman, if this still isn't pacifistic enough for you. And if any violence isn't the answer, there's a glitch in the Egg Dealer fight where sometimes Eggman's own Bomb attack can damage him. It would probably take an hour of waiting around to get it to happen enough times to kill him, but you can win against the Dealer without throwing a singke Homing Attack!
