I'm definitely going to try this. The ring shape creates choke points, limits expansion options, and forces fleets in one direction (with FTL inhibitor) instead of chasing enemy fleets all over the galaxy. Great stuff - thank you!

Such an exciting crisis this game. Always felt like crises that spawn on the other end of map can be ignored, because game mechanics is gonna slow them down to a crawl eventually. They should always be like a big steamroller that will flatten the galaxy if not overcome.

The fact that the crises don't adapt is a great counterbalance to how OP you can make them with the multiplier. You murder several dozen _million_ in fleet power with like 500k

I think you need a bubble and a knife. A bubble, with defended edges, of claimed territory you can expand into. A knife that cuts through enemy territory and clears stuff; the goal being to cut a swath than makes a larger bubble. Have 1 buffer system outside your bubble, and your defence fleet attacks scrounge when the scrounge attack the buffer system. (AI doesn't like attacking into systems with larger fleets; the buffer system is your bait so enemy moves smaller fleets in). Problem is that each wormhole ups your surface area, requiring more defensive fleets. And your defensive fleets need to be good enough to take out 2-3 invading fleets. Gateways cut down your surface area. So long as you jump in before the system is overrun. So shrink the surface area with gateway spam (ouch, influence).

there's another mod that lets you just modify the hyperlanes to do some other interesting things like stitch all lanes to one singular point in the galaxy, or connect all systems in a line. It doesn't affect system generation as much as the ring mod here does

Hey Ep3o, I wanted to ask; how long does it take you to make a video from idea to upload and do you follow a script on what you want to say or make it up as you go along? Be nice to hear more about the inside workings

I have a huge note page of potential video ideas that I get from comments, Reddit, or just general ideas I think of. I then take 3-6hrs recording, the intro is usually scripted but the rest of the video is completely unscripted and is literally me playing the game and just reacting to stuff happening. I have 0 clue how it’ll turn out except for the video premise! Editing takes 1-2weeks but I have a couple of editors I’m working with which allows them each to take ~two weeks and alternate who’s video is uploaded. Im currently working on some other stuff that you all should see soon 👀

The reverse minor artifacts give you the chance to get fallen empire buildings, it’s extremely rare I just got lucky
