Goddamn didn't expect you to return to this after so long. But I'm loving seeing you return to old mods like Hex, Whitty and now this. (And seeing you one try Hellclown was really cool) Tricky was a huge mod for FNF and bought so much to the table like mines and major cutscenes. And he's due to get even more updates pretty soon actually! Some stuff you may not know (I do this a lot now for some reason). The flashing text that Tricky has sometimes comes from his improbabilty drive. This essentially stops Tricky from dying or making any mistake as it just corrects it. I like to think whenever it flashes here it's actually Tricky making a mistake and the drive fixes it. When you beat Hellclown and Tricky gets warped somewhere. The eye that flashes on The Auditor's monitor (the guy who basically runs everything in the Madness Combat world, hence why he was confused) is hinted to be the same group that gave Hex the Virus and is part of the same group that's hunting Whitty. While this is uncomfirmed. In Expurgation it's theorised that Tricky wants BF dead... like really dead. But due to the rules of FNF, the only way you can harm anyone is from a rap battle. This is why the Improbability Drive keeps giving errors, it can't do what Tricky wants it to do. So this is why Tricky basically cheats for the entire song, with insta kills, blocking your arrows and pulling your health down. Also fun fact. Tricky isn't some wildly evil badguy with interesting morals... he's kinda just some douchebag who happens to be really powerful.

The Portable Improbability Drive was destroyed when Expurgation (in the main series) happened, and I'm pretty sure Expurgation in here is said to not be canon to the story of the mod. So that's not the Improbability Drive. In the series, it was shown that red text is also Tricky himself talking, which is definitely what's happening in that case, because the Improbability Drive only seems to give outputs to "commands" (actions. The reason I use that word is because the entirety of Nevada, _everything_ below the Highest Powers seems to be made out of code, even the Auditor's Pocket Dimension), while here, Tricky is forming full sentences and phrases. Tricky is just as evil as Hank. He was given the Portable Improbability Drive by the Auditor to kill Hank, but after a while, he started using its power for his own advantage. He did his own thing, and stopped showing alliance to the Auditor. Tricky just seems to want to unleash Madness for all to see, to feel, which is evident because Tricky keeps tormenting Hank with his power, by reviving him for him to keep fighting, to keep suffering, which is why he gets pissed off when he flees or refuses to keep fighting.

Funny, I had a moment like this recently with the Tricky mod specifically. I mainly play using 1 hand on the arrow keys and wanted to see if I could finally beat Hellclown, a song I was nowhere close to beating when the mod released. Beat Hellclown first try and then beat Expurgation. I genuinely felt pretty proud of myself, and I'm also proud of you for finally being able to best Hellclown and almost beat Expurgation.

Dying at the end of Expurgation is breaking, but with enough practice I feel like you can beat it. The guy that you see at the end of Hellclown is called The Auditor, who is the one behind Tricky's form in Hellclown. This is a list of my favorite songs of the mod: Expurgation/Madness are tied for my most favorite song, then Improbable Outset, and last but not least, Hellclown(is at the bottom of the list because I Hate Hellclown).

A bit correction: 1. Tricky phase 3 transformation is called Accelerantion. 2. At the end of that pase the dark one teleports him to prison. 3. I highly recommend you to watch entire saga of Madness Combat 1-11 where everything is explained by the action. 4. For lore even though I’m very late: In Expurgation you fight Tricky from episode 11 of madness combat where he has the Nexus Artifact (The halo) so he can make minions that look like him, transport people to “The other place” (where you’re fighting him) and is basically just a super powered version of himself.

If Expurgation was a lot harder, just imagine if… The song had a mod chart as crazy as Detected’s mod chart. The scroll speed was 4. There was 2x the amount of instakill notes there is in the chart. The song was 6 minutes long. The “baby tricky” pulled your health down a lot more. You miss once, it’s game over. The chart had jackpatterns.

Well this was insane. But hey if you manage to beat expurgation you maybe should try out the retrospecter remix of it. Its way harder since it got a hard second "phase" thing or whatever you want to call it. And since i managed to beat it you should be able to do it aswell. Boyfriend seems to have been lured here by whoever kidnapped Girlfriend. Also the halo is something the Auditor had, but it basically makes you super powerful. 15:47 He actually can't kill cus of the rules of FNF. He has to get you to fail at singing to kill. 16:07 Baby tricky is scripted, and he drains your health. However, spamming your keys makes him go away. (Except for the last time he appears in the song). 17:30 Yeah there he goes draining your health, again spamming keys stops him. 19:47 "HAAAAAAAANK!" And ok seriously Merg, props to you for getting through this section second try. 20:35 That was pretty much my strategy the first time beating this song lmao. 21:00 So the trick to beating this section is pretty simple: Don't miss too many notes in this section. The health gremlin on its own will only take your health super low (doesn't matter how much HP you have going into this section), but the added mistakes can be enough to kill you. 21:29 You almost did it! Still sad you didn't beat Expurgation, you definitely have the skills to do so on a retry, but still, great job for beating Hellclown and getting that far!

If you want more like this may I recommend Hank Antipathy mod (Even if it's a demo it slaps) and the Auditor mod? The two characters are from the same thing as Tricky is from and are pretty cool. Or FNF online mod also has a song to feature him called Accelerant. All in all If you wish the context you can either watch the series where he is from on KZbin called Madness Combat by Krinkles (What I recommend personally) Or I can give a short summary on what Tricky is as spoiler free as I can manage. Alright... The short summary on Tricky is as follows: (In thick text if you don't want to know anything skip it) *Tricky: Tricky was originally a really smart person that was an assassin for a guy called the 'Sheriff' in a clown getup. The person who was Tricky has a device in him called the 'Portable Improbability Drive' It makes whatever event that is the least likely to be most likely and vice versa. If he dies and the device is intact he can revive himself and others, the more he dies the crazier he becomes. He has become sadistic in enacting revenge on Hank (The guy that killed him, and the protag of Madness Combat), by killing and bringing him back repeatedly. He doesn't kill his targets but rather loves the thrill of the hunt and toying with them. (The fact that BF cant really 'die' makes him desperate to hold nothing back in Expurgation.)* PS: You got pretty close at the end there, that HP drain is the finish line, i think you can do it just takes a bit of fine tuning

i'd try to beat it too, but the thing is i haven't opened the mod in so long, it probably backed up everything in the mod and would just download every single file while i'm playing. i think it happened once. also my fnf skill level is like, exact same level as merg. only slight differences, like i could actually get rings on triple trouble. couldn't even do shaggy 9 key with ghost tapping spam. etc i also once beat hellclown on hard. so close to losing too and it increased my heartrate by like 10X. and then i realized.. you have to beat it in story mode, not freeplay, and i couldn't win anymore because i was too garbage at the end lmao. i might be able to beat it now tho. edit2: i might hit arrows a little smoother. though. it just feels like a bunch of waves to me. i still struggled on triple trouble just as much as merg. but knuckles was the hardest part because he never gave me a break and kept throwing the phantom notes at me (it's called phantom notes, i got so sick of them i tried to remove their texture and replace it with fire notes or something to make them more visible, i don't think it worked.)
