The DXpedition from St Paul Island. (t-rexsoftware....) I wanted to see if I could break the pileup with the DX Commander Classic. Radio is a Flex 6600 into an RF-Kit S amplifier running about 1300 watts. 73 de W4EEY

Gary, I passed my Tech and General all thanks to your classes! Only missed 2 on the Gen! That's awesome that you made a QSO with CY9C! I was just talking with a ham on 40m and he told me about the St Paul Expedition so I've been looking through YT for any info and there you were! Cheers and 73! KK7RHF Dave

Congratulations to you! Very proud of you! You should be able to work CY9C yourself. They have good signals into the US. 73 de W4EEY

@@W4EEY Quick question, With them receiving on 14.220, Isn't that just outside of the band plan for General? 73 KK7RHF Dave

@@BulletBarDave CY9C was transmitting on 14.220 MHz, asking stations to transmit to them "5 up". General Class stations could listen on 14.220 and transmit Upper Sideband on 14.225 MHz (or above) and be within the frequency allocation for their class of license. Hope this helps. 73 de W4EEY

I was lucky enough to contact them using my G90 @20 watts and EFHW sloper. It did take me 2 hours. It was a good challenge.😎

You were transmitting on 14.220 and listening on 14.215. Is that what is meant by 5 up? ND9G

The reverse of what you said. The DX (CY9C) were transmitting on 14.220 and were "listening up" 5 kHz. I transmitted on 14.215 MHz (5 kHz above their frequency). Thanks for commenting. 73 de W4EEY

@@W4EEY Why does the display show TX 14.229? Aren't you transmitting on that freq to CY9C? Sorry to add to the confusion.
