The art turned out great! The rendering of her tail and lower body was pretty awesome! For me, the potential of this piece could be increased with a different approach to light and composition. Before you start coloring, it'd be wise to work on the values and block the light first. Set the direction and the source of the light, then stick with that until the end. I noticed that, even though you placed a highlight on her chest (indicating that the source of light is above and in front of her), you made a contour highlight on her entire hair, which doesn’t make sense, since there’s only one main light source, and it’s in front of her. Maybe you wanted to show her silhouette by doing that, but in that case, just add small lines of highlights in strategic places in her hair-"less is more." You could also add tiny highlights on her gold accessories and emeralds, following the light's direction once again. Right now, it feels like there’s no light hitting her arms or the crown, even though you rendered those pieces. As for the composition, I think that since it’s a splash art, the character must be the principal focal point, so your composition needs to be very clear. You can try the rule of thirds or place the character in the center. In this case, the character is neither in the center nor following the rule of thirds, so it feels off-balance and a bit awkward to look at. Also, there’s so much detail happening around her face-let her breathe! Maybe adding more space for the sky, emphasizing her face, would be much better. Try to create contrast between detailed and simple areas, like: detailed, simple, detailed, simple. Her face is full of details with her crown, so opening the sky (making it a simple element after a detailed one) will give more negative space and draw more focus to her face. Depth is also very important. In your splash, I can’t feel the depth, which makes it seem too flat. To fix that, make sure the values are right, and keep it simple: "Foreground, Midground, Background," with the first one being the darkest in value. That way, it will be crystal clear what’s closer to us and what’s farther away. Now, this is just my opinion, but that hand on the left would have a bigger purpose if it were on the right. It’s the "right hand," and Cassiopeia is looking at us, almost as if "we are next." You could work with that context and make the petrified hand "our" hand, as if she’s turning the viewer to stone. Another thing to note is that the perspective is low-angle, but her anatomy isn’t following that. That’s just a fundamental issue, but as long as you remember to align the anatomy with the perspective, you'll be fine. None of this means that the art is bad-far from it. There’s no bad art in the world (except AI art, but that doesn’t count as art... right? xd). There’s only art that can increase its potential by refining it more and more. What’s important is communicating the idea, and your art does that very well. So for me, your piece is pretty good! Keep going, and you’ll become even more awesome! Good luck with your studies!🥳🥳🥳

@@rasmachris94 You are right about that, although I don't know how to apply this feedback to my future artworks yet. I do have a problem with sloppy blurring - or not entirely though trough. But the difference in styles is completely accidentall as I tried to paint both things in my own way (riots splash arts were used more of a reference to the fundamentals of good illustration I did not intended to copy thier stylization completely) I will have to think more about the implementation of your advice. as someone also making an effort to learn how to create art, it's really motivating seeing you actively overcome obstacles and improve your work by doing so. I watched your "draw in one year" a while back and it motivated me enough to finally get marc brunet's art school (I know you only did the one year challenge, having structure just keeps me on track) I just wanted to say your art is amazing and to keep setting goals for yourself to improve towards, but most of all just keep making art :) (and hopefully uploading it to youtube as well😅) (also sorry for the cheesy comment, just really felt the need to say this🙂)
