Can I cross Mario Odyssey kingdoms in a STRAIGHT line?

hey guys! today i'm playing super mario odyssey for the nintendo switch and am figuring out whether or not I can cross kingdoms in a straight line. i saw pointcrow, smallant, and fir doing this straight line style video and wanted to do one myself, so i hope you enjoy!

when i was recording, i actually did find out that the wire in ruined is completely straight if you do a diagonal line. so it’s really just up to anyone to decide 🤷‍♂️

@kojoh Well, most of the time, they also have coordinates to go off of, and its easier to keep track if you stayed in a horizontal line or a vertical line with coordinates, then it is with a diagonal one

For mushroom kingdom you can do the wet nut jump a couple of times to get up to the island and you can jump back down without the invisible wall. Still seems impossible tho

you can even skip the bowser section if you're a little smart with it, swerve to the left or right a little bit before the platform with the paintiing to avoid uncapturing glydon, and fly around

In mushroom you can do the wetnut jump from the mainland to yoshis house which removes the invisible barrier and you can jump over but its a hard jump. I saw smallant do it

8:05 its not the position of the fireball for this its because when you jump with a fireball while moving up a slope in yhe lava, you will jump higher. It doesnt matter how steep the slope is, just that you have to be moving up it

The specific clip of Smant where he jumps across (in the Impossible Jump video) is a mod that removes the barrier. It was a joke at the end to troll his viewers. But with the wet nut glitch you actually can reach high enough to go over the barrier and onto the island.

you have to have a physical copy of the game unless you have a modded switch. for a normal switch, you’d have to delete all of the data from a game ENTIRELY (go into settings > data management) and insert the game cartridge in. when it shows up, don’t let your switch update it, and just hit “start software” if you have a modded switch, well you just… um… *obtain* the game file without the updates and download it through cfw.

I saw in smant (smallant)’s vid where he tests out “impossible” trick jumps and the mushroom jump from yoshis island to the mainland is actually possible. Its just that he is a pro and it took him 50 mins so for regular standards like you and me its impossible. Plus, maybe there was an invis wall because of updates that added those.

i have a jailbroken switch that technically counts as 2 seperate switches when booting them up. so i had to back up smo from my actual switch onto the “second” switch. i’m not too sure how much of the process i can get into without nintendo sending the fbi after me lol

@@ILostMyMainLol but if you wanted to do it organically, the only way you can roll back to a 1.0 version of any game on switch is by using a physical version of the game. if you then delete ALL of the data associated with it (including your save data since it might get corrupted anyway), you can put in the physical game and just hit “start software” when it asks you to update.
