Most individuals with Parkinson disease need to take levodopa (Sinemet) for the condition but dopamine agonists should be avoided for Parkinson disease if at all possible as they will eventually worsen RLS or possibly cause RLS to develop in those who did not have it. Those with Parkinson disease and RLS should follow standard treatments for RLS like aggressive iron supplementation and medications like gabapentin and pregabalin and avoid use of dopamine agonists like pramipexole and ropinirole.
