remember decluttering is a journey not a destination. You are being too hard on yourself. Things will always come in that we will get rid of at some stage. Other things we keep until they no longer bring us joy or have a purpose. Just imagine how much you would have to declutter if you didn't do it regularly!! You do such a great job, be proud of your efforts.

Another thing to think of is adding a monetary value to the items you're parting with. If you believe you got your money's worth out of it and you're parting with it because it is worn out or has no further use then don't worry about adding a value to this, it's paid for and you spent wisely, If you bought something but never used it but now are parting with it, this is money wasted, and this can be attributed to most impulse buys. Total this up and add to a ledger and before long you'll notice if you're spending wisely or not. Nothing wrong with this, we all do it, it's just a way to force ourselves to be more aware of our future purchases.
@HowToGYST3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I often remark that I "got my money's worth" out of items. Very satisfying when you know your money was well spent. Like completely using up a pen or notebook. 😂

Hi! Love this challenge! I feel like I too would find it alarmingly easy to find another 100 things to let go of… I would love to see you collaborate with Cass from Clutterbug to maximize Scout’s closet storage usability, I.e. bringing the clothing bar down to her height. Also, I’d love for you two to work on vertical storage in your garage, to zone it and make it sooo much more user friendly. A long time fan!!! Who’s gained much benefit from your courses.

Love love love this. You have given me a ‘penny dropping moment’…once a person has culled, streamlined and decluttered most of their household clutter, the Zen Zone arrives..the stage you seem to be at now, where, yes, there are still things to declutter, but it is manageable because all the heavy decisions on all the heavy stuff have been made. Ding! I want to get to your stage. Where it still needs thought but the decluttering is on a much more refined scale. The 100 things fit on a car passenger seat rather than require two trucks. Gulp. This may entail me..er..scanning 400 books and handouts. But those little declutlets on the carpet are a level to aim for! Thanks! I want declutlets!
@HowToGYST3 жыл бұрын
LOVE that word, declutlets. 😂 You may be right baout all the tough decisions being behind me. At least, I hope so! 🤣 It does get easier with time.

Well, make sure you get it all out of your room or else you have new clutter. We're planning on moving eventually (next year or so) so I am decluttering so as not to drag junk to the new place. I’m finding it’s easier to declutter if I have a number goal. It’s a different perspective on the things stored in that space. If I’m on the fence about something - the number pushes me off the top rail. 😀 I do great on 30 day Minimalist challenges. Though I tend to pile the stuff and tally it at the end of each week. I should give this challenge a try - 100 items in one hour. ✳️ FYI: Our local small business florist will take my vases and she’ll give me a little discount too. I like to support our local businesses. She said any vases she can’t use - she gives to a resale shop around the corner from her.

Anyhow, my daughter came in to help me throw stuff out and a small piece of my meat slicer got thrown away because I couldn't think of what it was or what it went to right off the top of my head. I had to stop watching....you are throwing away buttons!!!! 😫 I still have a cookie tin of buttons lol! And vases!!!!! I only have 2 empty vases, which will be filled during the summer.
