Zones or Rainmaker is my highest (can’t remember, and I can’t check, because I lost my switch) with an astounding S+3-5. I had to go up one number every time. Maybe because, like you said, you ether get put in a good team, or a terrible team to just get splatted to an inky pulp. Yes, I do go straight towards the objective (for Tower Control, I am at an S, and for Claim Blitz, I just suck at it, most likely I’m at a B, but I do know that I’m below an A-. I don’t even know how to really play that mode). And you wanna know what weapon I used to get my way to that placement in Ranked, well, you may be shocked, but it was mostly because of my vanilla Sploosh. I main it. I go up close and personal and then, they don’t know what hit them. You may think the Sploosh is a weak weapon, but to me, it has a ton of hidden potential. I love Sploosh, and that’s why I was able to get all the way up there. Hopefully, I can find my switch soon, so that I can get myself to X rank, for the very 1st time, and to strike that X pose, and the weapon that’ll do it for me will be, my Sploosh

yeah, i feel like every time i try to engage a push for my team saying this way over and over does not work. ranked camp triggerfish makes me want to cry, i’ve had so many games lost on clam blitz due to someone not watching one area. i main nzap 85 and top frag almost every game i’m in (15 kills+), and my teammates get no motive to push or play off of my wins. sure, there are opponents that had just played better than us and steamrolled us, and i need to get better positioning and aim. however, i do not want to be pissed off for the 50th time for derailing on an absolutely winnable game. I am hardstuck in S+5-6 every mode besides rainmaker which sits at 2 cracks S+9. I do not think ELO hell exists, and there is always a chance to make a bad team into a good game. however i am tired of the constant torture that is bad team gunplay, bad team positioning, not focusing on objectives, team getting killed over and over again spamming ouch, just so i’m the last player holding back the push with a suction bomb and a crossed index and middle finger. sorry if this was a nightmare to read. but i bet you can or could relate if you’re out of S+ hell.

Alright Chara we get it, you are a cracked pro gamer and you succesfully conquered the splatlocke. Now I think it would be interesting if you could do it again but with a twist. Bassically the main gimmick of losing a game equals to losing a weapon would be kept, but this time you only have 10 weapons. 7 of those weapons would be picked randomly and the other 3 you can pick yourself. It would definitely make it more interesting since you cant play whatever you want and losing a weapon would be a lot more impactful. This series was pretty fun so I would love to see it again. (bonus challenge: since you did this only on tower then maybe do it only on clams since as we all know, its the BEST mode for solo)

What even determines how many ranks you rank up? I remember winning every single S+3 game and I only went up to S+4 lol

I think you mostly have to knockout

It also depends on how much you win by, knockout wins give you a higher chance of skipping ranks than if you just win by a couple points every game

It is only dependent on your power rating. Each player has a power rating for each mode. Power rating is calculated using the Glicko2 rating system, which only takes into account the outcome of a match (whether it is won or lost, it is not affected by the score or any other match statistics) and the rating statistics of the players. Each rank has a target power rating. When you rank up, your rank will be set to the rank that is higher than your current rank with the greatest power rating that is less than or equal to your power rating.

That’s why I can never go more than 1 Rank higher, and when I do go that high, it’s mostly because I I ended restarting from C rank and getting boosted straight to A rank. And that’s the only time I will go more than 1 rank higher

It's based on your hidden power. Just like league and rank x, everyone has a hidden power than increases or decreases based on victories and losses. When you win unlikely matches, your power increases a lot. And when your power gets to a certain threshold and you rank up, you get to skip ranks.

Not really. Chara is a pretty high level comp player and the system is designed to move better players up quicker by skipping ranks. I guess its still slow to level up but this doesnt really say anything
