You guys are very skilled but the difference in talent with yours and jackie's. His looks like a serious fight with coincidental/accidental comedy and it looks legit. Jackie is incredibly fast paced. You dont even have enough time to analyse what you just saw like a magician. The trick was so fast all you saw was magic. Even the times when he says stop and they stop. Its fast and they are back into it with jackie. And the second time around it should be different and faster reaction as these are humans not punching bag power rangers enemies. Not making that distinction is where it looks pg even though the same moves are being performed.

As a huge Jackie Chan fan: this was simply incredible! You managed to capture the essence of Jackie Chan fights. The stunts and fight choreography were incredible! I was thoroughly entertained throughout this fight video. You should be immensely proud of this. This is better than 90% of fights that are out on tv or today’s type movies. Honestly great job!
@guitargodthor22 жыл бұрын
Almost perfect. 4 things to add for next time: Dust/powder to make impacts more impactful. Whether Jackie is hitting someone or someone is falling onto a surface, many times you'll see a ton of powder fly out. Some of his more recent movies don't have it but it's still a classic thing to see in his fight scenes. Quick inventive moves that transition into unthinkable weapons. Whether it's his bamboo weapon in Legend of Drunken Master, the ladder bow staff in First Strike or some guys jacket in, well, many of his movies, he's known to make weapons on the spot and to make and use them in interesting ways. Slow motion. When doing crazy jumps, he tends to use slow motion so when you flipped off the playset, it would've been nice to see it at ¼ speed. Lastly, your Jackie impression wasn't bad but it didn't feel like you were projecting the same energy. Jackie never ever stands still.

Kinda nit picky, I know Jackie uses other tricks as well like for fighting larger crowds, every fighter makes a specific sound for High and or low attack, So Jackie knows where to block or counter. Not sure if it applies to hand or foot attack as well. I know he made a small documentary of how he made his fight scenes and such. But he always made insane time sinks as well for filming scenes. There is only so much you can do. I think its a solid fight scene.
@guitargodthor22 жыл бұрын
@@MadShadow_ i thought it was decent but i dont think it measures up to the same degree as an actual Jackie chan production. Nit picking aside, criticism is key to seeing an opportunity to be better.
@MadShadow_2 жыл бұрын
@@guitargodthor2 Maybe, but this is also more of a side project than part of fully fletched feature. To even close to rival that you probably need longer planning and practice. Jackie went months filming the same scene over and over. Something nobody does anymore. Plus he set an insane standard.
@guitargodthor22 жыл бұрын
@@MadShadow_ that may be so but these are professionals too. I'm sure they practiced for as long as they felt they needed before filming and probably got to do more takes since it isn't on actual film. Seeing more daring locations would've been nice but i think that would actually be nitpicking.

Jackie chan is not just a marital artist but also an acrobat with years of training as a child, the fact that he incorporated everything he knew and used it together is what makes him amazing. He can see the fights,environment and shots in his head before they happen(from being in the fight and outside of it)and alot of his fights he does in one long shot take so he has to memorize all the choreography too. He simply is amazing and you guys honor him by doing this 👏 you have my respect. Only question is...where do you go from here? I am excited to find out 😊👍

Jackie was my inspiration for parkour, martial arts, and stunts as well. This was a great homage, so many moments that looked like perfect Easter eggs to some of his best fights. The one thing I would change is I think Jackie always shot a lower frame rate. Old stuff was 18 newer stuff was maybe 22 (both pushed to 24 in post). It gives a comedic "feel" to the too fast movement after the speed ramp. Great work guys!

As a Singaporean Chinese who watched JC's movies since young, I reckon that between his filming process and yours, are the facts that (i) JC was trained in traditional Chinese operatic stunts since young, and all the somersaults, triple-saults, backflips, frontflips, etc, are all in his blood, thereby allowing him to visualise what he's gonna do the moment he arrived at a scene; (ii) his stunt-team have grown and bonded with him over decades, which allow them to form a silent synchronization and understanding even by a look in the eye. Your efforts are nevertheless admirable, and courage commendable. Kudos to you and your team!

Omar this was absolutely amazing, you all truly captured what it feels like to watch a Jackie Chan scene. You could have easily put him into this particular scene and it wouldn't feel out of place at all.
