It's fun to watch you servicing locomotives as always! I've got myself a 3553 as it is not only cheap but also very easy to digitize. Have a nice sunday!

Excellent detective work Poirot (even though he is Belgian would be proud! Or showing my age Maigret! ) methodical approach wins the day, with a lot of patience. Thank you for sharing your fault finding😀

Very relaxing watch as always and it does provide a well good mix of the dazzling many BR 120 versions by Märklin. We found a 1990 version of the 3153 with 3 cables on the roof. Its original DCM motor can be quite loud but we managed to change to a 5 pole "hohe Leistung". Runs smoothly now and much more quiet ever since.

Great video again. 🙂 8:55 Many times it happenes that the joints where the springs are locked into the slider are oxidized/greasy etc. I clean them with a small brush and Isopropyl alcohol.

Hello there I am asking for some tips on restoring an old ST 800 as its been in my family for generations. Its preatty much in pristine condition since it always had many problems with the layout that I have since its almost never flat but has a slight incline. The locomotive unfortunately is missing somehow the rear (transmission) metal piece and at the moment not even the locomotive by its self barely runs. Is it possible to install rubber wheels on it and other parts such as lights and the transmission as I dont want to spend too much on something that isnt compatible. Thanks!

I have never had one of these in my hands, so cannot help. I know that Ritter Restaurationen has spare parts for this model, which are not too expensive. They even make some parts. Given you say your model is in pristine condition, it might be worth having a look. HEre is a link to the ST800 spare parts page on their website: ritter-restaurationen.de/en/product-category/spare-parts/spare-parts-00-h0/rail-cars-800/st-800-en

@@The3rdRail Thank you so much as of right now the only parts I really need are those half plastic wheels as I have whole metal ones and the rubber band for them. I might also look into the couples between the bendable axles since they are quite loose. Apart from that I did also find the transmission piece hidden within the very used cardboard box (still has a shape somehow and the colour of it is in a grey colour with the paper orange sticker with the model number ST800 printed on it)

@@The3rdRail Small other question for the 6147. I found it i my basement as well as enough switches and enough raliling for a second railway. I have no idea how do do maintence or to test if it works without electricuting myself as its a heavy brick with the throttle lever being a bit stiff. Thanks!

@@turtlepowa I can't help you with this, I am not a qualified electrician. Best to buy a recent transformer, for example a 6647 or 66471, especially if you intend to run modern locomotives.

@@The3rdRail Well its main use is for analog only since I can build a second large table with all the spare parts, unused rails, lights everything barely used
