FYI when you torque with a torque adapter or crows foot. You’re over torquing with it straight out (changes the fulcrum point). Turn it 90 degrees and torque to spec ✌️. There are formulas to convert your torque spec if you have to use it straight out/ angle other than 90

Edit: kept watching and learned you’re an engineer. I’m sure you know all about it lol.

You flip bikes just like i do alot of them i pick up are like yours some cleaning and plastics etc like you said its a hobby and for me its the same but also i feel like every bike i do is another 2 stroke saved from death thats why i pick up the very clapped out bikes so they dont either a sit there and rot or b get taken apart and parted out on ebay its rewarding knowing that when the bike sells it has alot more years left on it because of me restoring it. Yea it may end up that i only make a couple hundred on some bikes just because they needed so much but its worth it as long as i break even im happy and if im not going to atleast break even then its another bike for the collection and ill keep it forever and ride it

I just figured I asked if you knew about that trick?

Hey can I get your advice on what would make my bike sell for the highest dollar if I ever sell it? It has a good amount of problems such as notched basket and clutch plates, bent front rotor, bad front wheel bearings, and a bad exhaust pipe seal, terrible eBay breakaway levers. I have probably 1900-2000 into it right now including the piston I’m about to put into it. Would it be worth spending money on larger things such as the clutch plates and basket? Or would the selling price increase not outweigh the cost? Also what things do you notice increase selling price the most? New plastics and tires?
@MattBerger023 жыл бұрын
Before selling, you want to make sure everything is mechanically working. If not, that will hurt your price the most. I would start with the small items such as the bent rotor, wheel bearings, and exhaust seal. Leave the levers. As for the basket, I would try taking it out and filing the notches down, that usually helps a lot and will save you from spending $$$ before selling it. Once all that is done, move to the plastics. New plastics are definitely the best way to increase your value, but you want to do the other stuff first. It is worth making $200-$300 less selling a bike that you feel confident is going to be ready for the next owner.
