Can I Get A Passport With A Felony Arrest Record | Criminal Record

Now any felony conviction can be an annoying problem for anyone, but it doesn’t have to be a major setback for you. Reason being is that the US State department reviews each and every passport application they receive and they do make decisions on felony passports on a per case basis.
There are some reasons that a felony conviction could hurt your chances of getting a passport, because there are some reasons why your application will most definitely be rejected.
For instance…if you are convicted of a drug-related felony or even certain drug-related misdemeanors, you are ineligible to get a passport. If you are a deadbeat parent and you owe child support payments…you cant get a passport until you clear up your payments and if the State Department decides that you are a threat to national security, you may be denied a passport.
You will also be disqualified if you have been ruled legally incompetent if you’re subject to a felony arrest or have been forbidden by court order, parole or probation from leaving the country.

Nice work however it's not 100% accurate as the first statement is incomplete. Here is the accurate info. "According to U.S. Code Classification Table 2714, if you are convicted of a drug-related felony or certain drug-related misdemeanors, you are ineligible to get a passport during the time you are incarcerated as well as during your court-mandated probation period, and can even have an extant passport taken away". With that even being convicted of a drug related felony you certainly can get a Passport. I have a Sales Of Cocaine, Manslaughter Conviction and upon finishing my prison time I applied and got my Passport.

I have an arrest on my record from 20 years ago. I was released and never charged. However the arrest is on my record, a felony had I been charged. I was not charged due to lack of evidence, clean blood test.

You only half to pay 50% of child support of arrears and male 3 payments. Drug felonies only pertain to trafficking internationally.. And I have been to Malaysia and Singapore and Indonesia.. I had to go through these steps.. To get my passport.

My partner has a felony that is over 10 years old and was "drug related" but it was only possession of psychedelic mushrooms (it was a nearly empty bag so nothing like distribution or intent). It's something people have told us he could likely have exsponged but we aren't sure where to start. What is you had a conviction back in 1982 but it was a non-drug related back in 1982 and you are not under any kind of parole / probation supervision, will you still be disqualified ?

I did a review on one of the BacTrack breathalyzers a while back. I actually thought going to one of the local clubs and getting volunteers to submit to testing to see if they knew what their bac might be...but the idea slipped through the cracks. Also, I never thought about doing a comparison of the different brands.

These are the conditions that will allow the release of passport regardless of child support arrears (1) Emergency Release Situations (2) Death of a qualifying family member (3) Medical emergency. 45 C.F.R. §303.35(a) (2001) also requires that each state have in place "an administrative complaint procedure … to allow individuals the opportunity to request an administrative review" to correct errors made by state child support enforcement agencies.

20 years ago is quite a long time ago. I personally feel that they should have the opportunity to get one. This is something that should be looked at on an individual basis. I would look and see if there were any further criminal convictions since.

What if I owe child support balances but I’m not delinquent? I pay extra to pay off the balance that was totaled up for a child I baby sat and the mother committed suicide in my driveway. I don’t even know the chick or the baby prior. She knocks on my door, in a panic shoves baby in my arm and sits in her car. Me just happy to be holding a baby let her have her breather. Then cops are at my door. Yard roped off. Dead body in car. Me explaining, well, trying to explain without looking like the stranger that killed the mother of the child I’m holding, I’m trying to tell the cop what took place and trying to bring my story on home to explain why I’m holding a dead woman’s child just was cut off with more rabbit hole line of questioning. Finally mentioned to a rookie cop that I have the child to get some action only was led to get baby checked out at the meat wagon. So paramedics decided to enter Me as the Father of kid unknown to me. CPS gets the kid, and I went on about my life. I got letters in the mail to appear to court but when I called they claimed my case might’ve gotten mixed up with another individual, or so I thought!! Turns out because I’m 100% Ebony Melanin and the kid is Caucasian they thought it was a mix up. So I never went to court. Welp, they declared the child legally mines. 12 years later I’m arrested for failure to pay CS. I owe $80k 😂😂😂. So after I add the baking soda what I need to do next?

Denial of passports to certain convicted drug traffickers (a) Ineligibility for passport (1) In general A passport may not be issued to an individual who is convicted of an offense described in subsection (b) of this section during the period described in subsection (c) of this section if the individual used a passport or otherwise crossed an international border in committing the offense.
