The verbal duel is actually pretty straightforward and honestly quite busted. I farmed verbal on a fresh character against the very first NPC I could reliably beat, now I can stomp transcendent characters and either make them friends or litteraly one shot them abusing verbal duel (if you win 5 times in a row you can inflict 100% vigor damage as a result) and knock them down to steal their shit, it's ridiculous lol
