Really good advice, and not only coming from an orthopedic surgeon but a former golfer. Actually the part about start with some chipping practice will not only help the healing process, but will definitely help the golf game, because as we all know everyone just wants to pound drivers. That raises your handicap, while practicing chipping will lower it. Thanks for your advice.

First class advice. I’m five weeks post op but wish I had seen these podcasts before having op. Would have been very beneficial.

Spot on advice. This exactly how I worked back into playing after my TKA. Especially like the suggestion to see an instructor, getting in the right groove can only help avoiding undue stress on the new knee.

Six weeks post-op after tkr and was told I can go back to playing the sport I love, disc golf. Disc golf requires a lot more twisting and weight on the surgical leg. Just curious, have you ever had a patient that was able to get back to disc golf? I am a little reluctant to play again this quickly.

If you were cleared by your surgeon they must feel your are okay. With my patients when they return to any activity it is best to take it slow with some warm ups and practice first.
