To all negative comments: Paul showed some balls and huge heart to come up on Pete's show as a total beginner. Show some respect and support. Everybody had to start somehow. Obviously he is nervous, because he is basically there to get critiqued. ...but he is trying his best. At least he's not bashing somebody in youtube comments.
@1allinone1Күн бұрын
What are people talking about in the comments? Saying he isn't going to make it? He's a month in and everyone commenting has probably played for years, there is no chance anyone here commenting was as good as this guy 1 month into playing poker. He has a lot of potential and is already talking about a lot of concepts that many people don't even think about years into playing poker. If you read this Paul, don't stop playing, you're already better than most people that have played for months, no one starts out as a crusher and I'm pretty sure you have the right attitude to be a very good player.

Completely agree. Unfortunately the pile on effect is real and some people get satisfaction from bashing those less skilled/experienced than themselves.

Shows how difficult it is to articulate thought processes as a beginner. Well done Paul, lots of pressure to be filmed too!

Hi Paul, very brave exposing yourself as a beginner. I´m also a beginner in terms of learning game theory and my recommendation as a bit more experienced player would be playing firstly regular tables instead of RnC. My reason for this from my point of view is that on a regular table you are forced to watch the play from your opponents until the end. Though the volume is not as high, you see more lines and especially more showdowns. Through this you can faster develope your poker instincts. Good luck

Well said. Instincts are crucial and they take time to develop no matter how much you study.

I’m new to studying poker and have similar experience to Paul. This video style of breaking down new players thoughts is so rare to find and extremely useful in comparison to anything else on the internet for someone like me in similar shoes. Understandably most people on this channel most likely have 1 or more years experience and find little value here. I hope more videos can be made like this in addition to the other ones.

Don't ever comment but a lot of really cringe comments below, obviously this content is going to be harder to consume especially if you're like adhd brain broken, but if you aren't able to gain anything from this type of content then that is probably more speaking of yourself than the content. I can say with most certainty that no one started as a low stakes crusher and would not be able to articulate themselves super well on the spot in the content form like this. and dude is clearly nervous for being a "noob" and it's already extremely difficult to properly articulate thought process in a nuanced game like Poker. You can either takeaway information about how a lot of fish/new players think and exploit that mindset more, or the coaching strategies Pete uses to help the dude understand better if you have any desire to help anyone you might know who is learning the game. This is definitely not the best video to do that, but I don't agree with the notion the video is just "bad"

Well said - you should comment more often :-)

Criticism of the content is very helpful and I appreciate it, but saying downright nasty things about a nervous beginner who has bravely vounteered to get his game publicly critiqued is malicious and pathetic. Of course if you appear on a youtube video you are going to look at the comments. Shame on those of you who recklessly tossed out hurtful stuff here without any regard for the person reading it and had to have your comments deleted.

Nice video Pete! You’ve done a good job coaching a wide range of skill levels in this series, and I’ve learned something from each video as an intermediate skilled player myself. Sure, some people may not extract much value from a beginner coaching session, just like a beginner would struggle to understand the high level thinking of a high stakes coaching session. I applaud your willingness to experiment and cater to a wide range of viewers - It makes your content feel inclusive. Thanks again!

Early indications seem to be that this level of teaching isn’t the sort of thing you guys want to see. Paul and I both knew going into this that as a brand new player his level would be well below that of the average viewer. I hoped it might provide a different insight into what it’s like for a beginner to try to understand this game. I appreciate the feedback guys. There will be some swings and some misses as we try to improve the content. We are almost at the end of poker inferno now and so those of you who aren’t big fans of the series will have some new diverse content to look forward to very soon.

Nah this is good content. It doesn't have to be for everyone.

I personally enjoy this content and assume lots of people here would too. It is quite useful for the few people here that are brand new and can be quite enjoyable for the experienced players as a form of nostalgic entertainment rather than education. IMO the problem with this video specifically is the badly structured and slow thought process, which is normal for a newer player but not entertaining to watch. I think if you could get the student to write down the thought process on paper for a few minutes before saying it out loud to the camera (and you) and have the video be edited around this, it will make for much more engaging content.

Would hate to be negative towards someone trying to improve themselves so this criticism is solely directed at Pete. This should be kept private. It’s not entertaining. It’s incredibly hard to watch. Hope you turn Paul into a crusher behind closed doors ❤

Why don’t you just be kind? Everyone starts somewhere and most people don’t have the guts to put themselves on the internet for critique. The world would be a nicer place if people were more encouraging.

@@thedealermusic Exactly. Put yourself in somebody place and ask yourself if u would like to hear such thing. Instead of encouragement deprecation. World is tough enough to not have to do this to random people.
