Sorry you're struggling. Your van is a good asset as a stationary place to live. Maybe you could park it on a friends land and live in it whilst doing up another vehicle? Scrapping it and being homeless is a crazy idea .

I don't know your financial situation, the facts are its all about money sweetheart but please please whatever you do , Don't risk getting rid of the van unless you know For sure you can both afford a new place guarantee. Please listen to my advice there are plenty of women and men here in Melbourne Australia that are your age and homeless and no one cares. They all had dreams like you, please don't risk Anything.may God's angels help you both

Thanks lovely! Don't worry, even though I'm very desperate to move again and just scrap it all, I still stop and think - what if. Especially because winter is coming. I love Australia. Been there in 2010 for a year and 2013. Love and miss the accent and easy going vibe of the people.

10:00 your camera is reading the outside light behind you. My van is parked until I have a fat emergency fund saved up again. Because a breakdown eats it up fast.

Ah ok, I almost thought so as well with the light. Yeah mechanic costs can get crazy expensive.

I am having same issue. Try the PCM. My Ford expedition just quite going in drive. I think changing the transmission fluid might help. But my husband would rather sell it instead of fixing it. Cost more to buy another vehicle than ti fix it I think. Cone on mechanics give some ideas to us
@rustypixeldesigns3 ай бұрын
Yeah I'd think so too. It's way more expensive to get another van and set that up. I thought of that option too. Another option was to sell the parts and get a car and move into a static temporarily. As just a car can be cheap. But having 2 big dogs to find dog friendly accomodation just is almost impossible as well.

Sending you good vibes. I've been in a similar situation living in my van with zero funds and it's scary. So my heart aches for you knowing how it feels. 💔 Just take one hour at a time. You've got this. Take one tiny step at a time. This may sound stupid but it's saved me... Go for a long walk everyday to clear your head. It's therapeutic. New ideas will come to you. Solutions you haven't thought of yet. You'll do it!! 💪

Your young man should be doing more, dont like to say this but a few weeks of work - say agency work - would bring in the extra income needed for a garage to look at it - or even better join RAC / AA and they will come out to you; also there are mobile [recommended by local 'Check-a-Trade, etc) mechanics who will have far greater experience Lastly, i assume you have the Haynes Van Manual to sort out the mechanics. Have you changed all of the sensors? I didn't hear you mention the the one/s on the catalyst; they are usually rusted on and hard to get off. There are also the the relays & fuses. A blown main relay / corrosion / fuse could cause uneven firing

At this time all seems bleak! Find a cheap place to park your van ! Store it , both of you find work , save up for a year and then reevaluate your situation !! With out adequate finances you are fighting an almost impossible battle ! I’m sure in a couple of months things will change , nothing stays the same , best of luck 👍👍👨🌾💪

Can you buy another van shell and then swop you interior over then sell the old van?
@rustypixeldesigns3 ай бұрын
Vans like this would be still at least £2000 which I don't have right now. But if money wouldn't be an issue than this would be a possibility.

Hi, thanks for watching. I uploaded a new video with a van update a couple of days ago. It's driving now, but we still don't know what the issue was and if it's fixed or not.

@rustypixeldesigns could be electrical hence working then not. Check and spray wd40 on all connectors. Egr valve u can spray with carbon cleaner. I actually saw your other vid..glad your both up and running again✌️

Living in a caravan is a better way to do this . . . . with a caravan as the home if there is trouble with the vehicle then you still have your home . Also your caravan can get parked up and you can use the vehicle to get around , without having to pack down to move every time .

Wonder if a mobile mechanic could help diagnose the engine issue?, avoids cost of alternative accommodation an towtruck. There's an Iveko forum where owners/operators swop hint n fixes, no Iveko teckies on there to pick their brains I suppose. £160 hour sounds awful, hope you get mobile soon, much sympathy to you
@rustypixeldesigns3 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yes I'm on the forum and someone had the same issue but as well no solution to it. General mobile mechanics unfortunately don't have the knowledge about specifics like this. I thought of that and even messaged some that deal with Ivecos. The costs would come to about the same as if I would tow and leave it at an iveco specialist unfortunately as these people are not local to me.

Maybe get a job to help yourself out? I don’t know your situation but a job can help… what is your partner doing to help? No where do you mention either of you working? I’m sorry for your situation but you know deep down you both need to work together to get through this situation. Good luck but 6 months is a long time to do nothing…
