for real, complete saga was my whole understanding of star wars and that kid me wasnt even far off to the actual storyline, didnt quite get the grasp of the importance of some things and with this game, its an even more polished movie-accurate story, skywalker saga's goal truly is to be an alternative depiction of the movies, they try to be very loyal to the source, using movie lines 1:1 and all that, and at the same time joke around, fast-pace it and make it lighthearted

They cut the dialogue out, but there's a nice quiet scene with Luke and his uncle and aunt (The people who raised him) and Luke talks about training to be a pilot or something I think, which explains his skills. His uncle didn't want him to do that since he knew he'd be part of the war going on. Lots of little dialogue like that seems to be taken out of every episode, most likely to get the plot going quicker than in the movies.

So basically, in the 19 years between episode 3 and 4, Daddy Vapor and Emperor Palpy took jedi from the old republic and fresh meat and made them into their own laser wielding soldiers. Meanwhile, Leia and Luke were separated at birth. Luke went to Afghanistan as a moisture farmer and Leia went to Los Angeles as a political figure. In that entire time, the jedi were hunted down by the new laser sword soldiers and were forced into hiding. The empire took control of the entire galaxy (except the outer rim [the slums of the galaxy]). Small groups of rebel terrorists grouped up and decided that enough was enough with the third reich terrorizing their economies and ruling with an iron fist. Que Star Wars 4

So, here's the story between episode 3 and 4: This is where most of Star Wars media takes place, so this'll be oversimplified. Obi Wan sent Luke an Leia into hiding to protect them from Vader. Obi Wan watched over Luke on the desert planet while the boy became a farmer and he let Leia become princess of the planet Alderan. One day, Obi gets a call from Leia's caretaker, Baal Organa, saying the she's been kidnapped and Vader gets called in to deal with Obi Wan (not because of Baal Organa) so Obi knows that Vader is alive. Meanwhile, the clones were phased out of the empire's military in favor of volunteers that the clones trained until the clones all died off. The Empire basically replaced the republic and used its already established military and political might to conquest the galaxy. Also, while this is going on, people start rebelling, separated at first, but thanks to the crew from the show Star Wars Rebels, the rebellion becomes unified. The Rouge Squadron is formed weeks before Episode 4 takes place and they sacrifice their live to get the death star plans which they send to Leia's ship. And you know what happens from there.

At the end of the Clone Wars (or the beginning I can’t remember) the Jedi Order numbered 10,000. Most people, especially on Coruscant where there are quadrillions of people and almost no fighting, no one had met a Jedi, let alone learned the difference between Jedi and Sith. Basically, the Republic’s Senate agreed to make Sheev Emperor gladly because he horribly scarred himself when Mace Windu redirected his Force Lightning back so that everyone, including Anakin, thought the Jedi were gonna assassinate Sheev and take over. He was already unprecedentedly powerful and presumably a master propagandist. There’s also the fact that the Jedi believe emotions and love are the path to evil and SUCK at therapy

Obi-Wan let himself die because, for one, from like a story standpoint it's because Luke needed the push to become the hero he needed to be and destroy the Death Star. Secondly, I think the main reason he fought vader to begin with was to distract him and allow Luke and the others to escape. The third, Obi-Wan figured out how to become one with the Force in his time in the desert, basically existing beyond the grave. By surrendering right there he showed Vader, once again, how much better he was.

My brother is Deaf and so his main entry into Star Wars was the original Lego games. He was old enough to of watched all movies until that point but it was not easy to find a copy with captions, especially since that wasn’t even a standard for DVD’s yet. He ended up with a pretty good understanding of Star Wars without any dialogue whatsoever and that’s thanks to how good those original games were

Answering all of your questions: 3:33 Darth Vader and his battalion were following the Rebels ship because they stole the diagram or "the plans" for the Death Star. These events are seen in the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story movie which canonically happened like 20 minutes or so ago at this point. I don't know why the comment your reading says anything about how Vader trained the Inquisitors, as it is completely irrelevant to the current mission and the Inquisitors don't ever even appear in the OT. 4:05 So due to the clones being needed to be adults to fight wars in only 9 to 10 years, the clones were genetically altered to grow twice as fast as regular humans, meaning by this point in the timeline they would be around 60-ish years old. So the Empire switched to recruiting regular humans instead. There maybe were a few old clones who stuck around in Vader's battalian but we don't see any in the film. 5:04 No, he does not know that Leia is his daughter and neither does she. Palpatine lied to Vader when he transformed and said that he killed Padme before she could give birth, and no-one who knew Anakin was Darth Vader ever told Leia. 5:20 Yes. 5:31 Also yes. 5:43 Yeah, pretty much. Leia gave him orders to give the Death Star plans to Obi-Wan by any means necessary right before she was captured. 5:48 No. 6:16 Not specifically caves, but he has been living on this planet for 19 years. 6:57 "Hello there, Luke, I'm Obi-Wan Kenobi, and I am directly responsible for turning your father into the 2nd worst monster in the galaxy who has killed thousands of people. I hope that isn't too much to handle." 8:48 Yes, there is a Chosen One. Luke is not the Chosen One, however. But will play a very important role later. I won't spoil it. They didn't even know that Leia was on the Death Star until they discovered her by looking through the Death Stars databanks, searching for a way to escape, so rescuing Leia was pure coincidence. 20:19 He's not very experienced, but the Force helps him to fly the ship.

I actually quite liked Star Wars as a kid in terms of merchandising, toys, some videogames etc. But when it came to the actual live action stuff, I just never sat through and watched any. I've seen bits and pieces here and there and obviously know certain scenes and lines that are embedded in pop culture, but the plot and the fine details aren't something I've ever been familiar with.
