Compression and EQ my friend.... Know them inside and out! And Rick Rubins advice, don't ever make music for a particular group of listeners because you know they will like it. i.e. a lot of people look at what's popular on spotify or beatport and copy that. Instead you want to free your mind, create music straight from the gut, not knowing whether anyone will like it. Anyone whose cracked that and hit a sweet spot with their music, will be propelled to superstar status!
