I drive hotshots, we use vans and cargo vans. We go from maine to westpalm beach out to ohio and Michigan. We dont use a load borad. We go through a trucking company and we run parts for pratt and whitney. They pay pretty good if you ever come across anything from them.

Interesting, I've heard of Pratt & Whitney but hadn't thought of how they used the hotshot system.

@SouthernDrawwHotshot yea im not sure exactly. But they always have trucks and trailers there like yours. They make our military jet engine parts. We just run parts for them and it pays me pretty good. Cutting out the middleman and you could be making it happen for sure.

Interesting. I to have my own truck and trailer. I run 3/4 car trailer. I use to run interstate and this go round I decided to run intrastate authority this go round. It's been a year in and it's been up and down for sure. From Feb. Through summer up to Oct was steadily doing between $8500.00 to $9500.00 a week. But it right now it'd been slow, really slow as far as loads (cars) being listed on board. And 70% of the list rate pm these shippers / brokers are throwing out are a joke. I won't touch a vehicle if I can not make $1.00 per mile per unit period. If it's being transported under 50 miles and under, I bid to where I'm getting $3 to $5 pm per unit. Usually I get my rates I bid. If it's 60 to 100 miles I bid the load to where I'm making $1.50 to $2.00 per mile per unit. If it's a load listed with 3 to 4 units on the same load I'll run it for $1.25 to $1.45 per unit. Unless they are large trucks or vans or sub then I won't touch them for under 2.00 per mile period. Gotta take sight and weight into account. But anyway right now it's slow and rates are shit. But remember it's supply and demand. More freight to move rates increase, best rates are going to be where there is more freight to move then they have trucks around that area to move it. Or to get you to a high paying load without having to deadhead. Just offering info, anything to help. Go check out superdispatch. The load board has a phone app free, they offer as well. It wil track and invoice your loads as well. Create BOLs and invoices and tracks billing as for paid not paid. Again you are more then welcome text me if you have any questions. I'm on the same page trying to get 40ft trailier have the truck going to have to run under somebody's else's authority get my hazmat then run Oil feild basins if that picks up in in ftworth TX hope your travel be profitable
