With writing being a hobby of mine, I love the way this tells you everything you need to know in just three minutes (great for a fast paced story like this!) These kids are all already pretty close, and two of 'em are even closer. They're all some sort of "anomaly" with special powers, like Faze Step (great name there BTW). Additionally, the story either starts here or there's story beforehand with them escaping an organization who is presumably the collective antagonist who clearly rounds up these types of people and essentially acts as some sort of detention ward or a similar facility-possibly because these people are viewed as "dangerous" somehow Perfectly explained exposition using the little details! Manufique! (or however it's spelled-I forget). The artstyle only boosts this, and I'd even say it's perfect for this story! Sorry this is so long, I'm just talkative. Welp, back to the Void I go

ok you did not seriously pack so much implied storytelling into less than 4 minutes-- the fact that we open with Mack's trio and then at 0:24 it becomes apparent that we are about to get 3 other people introduced as part of the same squad (also that Zelda is the first person with the most visible powers only for us to get to know everyone's individual characteristics as the short progresses) and then all the arm grabbing to single file up the stairs at 0:28 just rhghhghghh AND THEN EVERYONE'S SEPARATE EXIT POSES OUT OF THE STAIRWELL AUGH also Richy's little meltdown at 0:46 + all the other times I am eating that shit up oh my godddd (Zelda and Rich's banter is ICONIC btw) Have so much to gush over + will be rewatching this for aWHILE + checking out the webcomic- congrats on finishing this film omg Other favorite things: - Zelda's hair falling down around 1:29 - The lighting when Mack jumps out the window - Caro(?) having a cute little sitting landing pose

I'm glad this isn't bogged down with explanations. It's a common trapping for KZbin animations. I'm happy just to put it together myself, whether that be the implied relationships or whatever these people are, wherever they are. It flows nicely and the characters are so fun. "I'm complaining because I DON'T have any, brickhead!" That person's voice is great, by the way. Tell them that.

Things I noticed that are different from the comic: 1. Time skip? The comic wasn’t at this time of them being trapped at the SAF facility 2. Mack’s hair My boys locks are gone!! What happened! 3. Art style change Looks easy to animate and also just really good 4. Aiden now had control of his powers and can do things like “Phase step” which is new from his “sneezing” in the comic 5. OML MY BOYS KISSED In the comic, Aiden and Mack weren’t even together and we get this lovely food?! They’re adorable!! Thank you, Micah. Thats *such* an innovative solution to the problem. Yeah, no shit this guy who has had probably limited use of his abilities knew he could catch people mid-air. Who tests that sort of thing unless they have too??? Also how you steadily built to the reveal of what the collars were for without explicitly saying anything. First having someone flying around with wings. Then someone using shapeshifting powers. Then reconfirming what is implied about the teleport's powers in the one who can shapeshift, attempting to mimic that ability. Just, altogether, so much information concisely and visually delivered, incredible.

I’m not expert at animation, but I’ve been rewatching this a couple of times and I find it amazing how you managed to not only communicate the characters’ situation, the dynamics of most if not all the characters, AND the personalities of these characters in just 3 mins and few settings!! You literally told us how these characters are in like, one room + one incident that involved jumping off a building. It’s amazing the way you managed to communicate so much in not just the little amount of time but also with barely any .. well, lore explanations!! Oh. My. Gosh. I love this so much. The animation is awesome; i love the art style. The story! Who are these characters? Im invested. I love the interactions between the characters, and the voice acting is amazing. Superpowers? So interesting. The storytelling & pace? Spectacular. 👏💗 i thought this was a meme animation & i got so much more. I am pleasantly surprised
