There is a performance mode in the settings by hitting "Escape". This lowers the amount of "dots" and makes the game run perfectly smooth, even with massive amounts of points being gained.
@MatthewLudwig-mw8uq3 жыл бұрын
All Performance Mode does is raise the bar where the lag will appear, it doesn't get rid of it completely (at least not when I've used it). The fact that the dots can't be hidden completely or reduced to one dot per dice that gave dots is a bit of a bother. And no matter how fast the game runs, closing out your run can be another pain point due to having to sit through the last hundred or so rolls doing nothing. This game is a lot of fun, but it definitely needs a few QOL adjustments to make it better.

The game was working correctly. Wild Cards and Total Roll Multipliers only affect dice that were rerolled at the same time. So they gave you points on the first and second roll. But they had nothing to multiply/copy on the third roll since only your bottom die rolled three times (the others rolled twice). If you look carefully at the analysis screen, you'll see that they scored big points for the first and second roll, but not the third. Also, the lag issue is fixed by turning on performance mode.
@xraidev3 жыл бұрын
Exactly!
@ScopeyNZ3 жыл бұрын
This is it. This is true for all dice not just wilds and total roll multipliers, and it is written somewhere, maybe on the re-roll mechanic itself. I've played this game a lot, and I think the re-roll face bonus is basically useless. It's much better just to get some re-roll passive that affects the whole board. Edit: You can actually see my high score at 40:16 - #70 😅
@areadenial23433 жыл бұрын
Performance mode only helps so much... I had a massive die adder engine going and by the last 700 rolls it was taking several seconds for each roll to register. It only got worse as more dice kept appearing, eventually it was taking almost 30 seconds per roll.
@areadenial23433 жыл бұрын
@@ScopeyNZ I think adjacency rerollers and attached rerollers are literally some of the best items in the game. You just have to get a set of dice rerolling themselves at the same time so they can affect each other. The easiest way to do this is to place adjacency rerollers on the center die, and place your multipliers and high number dice adjacent to it with a weight and glue on the most valuable face. Attached rerollers also work but glue is less effective because a glued face can't reroll itself, so it's better to not weight the die at all to maximize your reroll chances. Just today I got a score of 1.8 trillion using reroll strats. Essentially I got the "Run Multiplier" passive or whatever it's called, where if you get 3 or more dice with numbers all in a row (a run), it multiplies all dice in the run by the highest number in the run. I realized that upgrade would be absolutely insane if you rolled 97-98-99, because all those numbers (and any additional 99s i think) would be multiplied by 99. So I purchased two 94..99 dice, set all faces to 97 and 98 respectively, and put 3x rerollers on every face to get this effect on every roll. Then I put together a die with four 99 faces, a void face, and a 10x previous roll multiplier face. So on top of the 2x void face multiplier, about 1/8 of the time it would multiply the entire previous roll by 20 (10x times 2 from the void face). I made a copy of that die and moved both of them next to an adjacency reroller die so they'd roll 2-3 extra times per roll. I also had the "Top 3 Multiplier" passive, which multiplies the 3 best dice by 10 and cuts all other dice in half. Then I surrounded the adjacency reroller die with 10x total roll multipliers and wilds. Eventually upgrades started to become too expensive to pay themselves off so I just rolled out to a cool 1.8 trillion.

The reason why the full roll multipliers always appeared to be worth 0 near the end of the run is because you had every die being rerolled twice but the multiplier die being rerolled 3 times, so on its final roll, there's nothing else for it to multiply. The three other rolls that don't get ultimately displayed will have the multiplier take effect on those entire rolls, but when it's the only thing that gets rerolled the final time, there's nothing for it to multiply
@darnwrong7943 жыл бұрын
From the summary of the bottom die, it seems to me that the rerolls are not acting as intended. Whenever it rerolls into a non-numeric face, instead of using the effect as is, it takes it as 0. My guess would be that when rerolls happen, it is treated as a single die roll, so any effects that says something like "x10 of highest die face of current roll" or "copy highest value of current roll" will not be counted, since no other dice has 'rolled' during that single reroll.
@grantdixon363 жыл бұрын
Actually it is working as intended, but it’s similar to your guess. If you look carefully, you can see that the bottom die rolled 4 times because of the attached x3 reroll, while all the other dice only rolled 3 times. Since the x3 was the only die rolled, it had nothing to multiply, so it was 0.
@tony_yt59673 жыл бұрын
Interesting yea I was noticing that when I was trying to stack rerolls with multipliers. It’s not just the big x10 faces this happens to as well. Other non numeric faces that rely on roll results have the same thing.

@xTheRadioStar3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's not worded well, but a re-roll is another roll with ONLY the re-rolled dice. So if 3 of 5 dice are re-rolled, it's a unique set. If a multiplier is re-rolled by itself, it's in a set by itself. The solution is to get x3 re-rolls on all your dice, and then you get 3 full rolls every roll.

Your bottom dice was working. rerolled dice act like isolated dice and are not affected by the other dice on the board, so when you had x10 it had nothing to multiply and was 0. If you read the entire analytics thingy it would show the roll result for 3 different rolls and usually the previous 2 rolls did give you points.
@areadenial23433 жыл бұрын
Ayo Tyler, the way price scaling works is based on how many points you have earned in total. This means you should do shop refreshes as soon as possible if there's nothing you want, waiting around means the shop prices are climbing higher. Also, I'm not completely sure, but I think shop refreshes (except free ones) increase in price each time you pay for them. With this in mind, it can be useful to purchase a shop refresh adder face, put a weight on it, and give it a ton of reroll effects. This will allow you to be more picky about which upgrades you choose, the less you spend on shit upgrades the less your points will be gouged later on. Also, I've done the math on the first tier of shop upgrades- at best, they're only marginally better than buying nothing. It's usually better to just gun it and unlock the second shop tier right away, which will add a second dice and double your income anyway. Then you'll have access to more high quality items like multipliers, incrementors, and rerollers.

@Tyler I hope this clears up all confusion in this video: 1. The performance issues were because of the animations (there is a performance mode in the options that turns them down) 2. The bottom die being 0 on its last reroll is intended: When dice are rerolled they ONLY look at other rerolled dice. This means when a multiplier or wild is rerolled on its own it will always be worth 0. In your case the bottom die was the only one getting rerolled thrice, all others were rerolled twice. This means the last roll of it would always be worth 0 unless it's numeric. There are some die faces that explicitly state that they disobey this rule, I think adjacency multipliers are one of them, but generally this is how it works. 3. Keep up the great work, love the content :D EDIT: I put two example in the replies

The reason some of the multipliers and whatever said 0 was because the faces that are affected by/affect numeric dice only do their effect if a numeric face was also rerolled with them. Example: a wild and a 9 are rolled (numeric 9, wild = 9), but the wild is rerolled, and not the 9, so it was as if only a wild was rolled, so the wild is nothing (no numeric value, wild = 0). The wild still gave a 9, but the thing that shows the numbers will say 0 because its last roll was a 0.

so a strategy I used to crack a trillion (currently with the strategy my high score is 400 trillion and puts me at 120 on the leaderboard) is a strategy I call the five fives. pretty much your goal when using this strategy is to eventually have 5 dice with every face on every die being a numeric value of 5. early game play as normal just make sure to leave one face on each die as 5 so you can set every face on the die to 5 later, make sure you dont use incremntors and make sure you dont use die adders you only want 5 dice. then mid game when you almost max out the shop and can begin purchasing background multiplers (the 2 upgrades in the bottom right corner of the shop) and begin setting all your die faces to 5. then once you get your fifth and final die its time to get the ball rolling. get as many background multipliers as possible multipliers such as Yahtzee multipliers (every roll will be a Yahtzee), prime numbers multipliers (5 is a prime number), numbers below 13 multipliers (obviously 5 is lower than 13), top 3, less than 6 die multipliers, numeric value multiplers, etc (also the reroll versions of these multipliers work well). with this every time you roll your numbers are getting multiplied so many times that when you use analytical mode the multipliers go off the screen. hope this helps someone out there whos looking for a really solid strategy that once you get the hang of can get you consistently in the trillions and when you get lucky get scores in the 100s of trillions

Hey so I found something about the game: So, let's say you have 300,000 and want to buy an item in the shop thats 1,000,000. If you grind up to the million and actually hit it, the next time you reroll your rerolls wills become REALLY expensive, so usually trying to stay under milestones like million and billion unless necessary is a good idea. I'm not 100% sure what all the milestones are but I do know what 1,000,000 is, its not the most helpful tip as you already pretty much do this but it is nice to know just so you arent confused when your rerolls jump up 10x
@xraidev3 жыл бұрын
There are no milestones but prices scale based on the number of dots you earned since the last reroll, so if you get a lot of points between shop refreshes, then prices will be much more expensive. Make sure you are picky with your shops because of this!

I'd be willing to bet that the crash and errors you were experiencing weren't because it was struggling to calculate the values, but that the rendering of several billion black dots was the problem. That it froze and only moved one frame means that the programmer probably didn't use the trick to not render things covered by other things, and so it was trying to render several billion black dots instead of just the upper layer. Edit: Yeah I think I'm right, you notice how the lag goes away over time as the black dots get removed from rendering when they're absorbed. Did you ever check your GPU stress during the recording? @@gabrielbeltran3320 Rerolls count as a separate roll. If you reroll a single multiplier die and nothing else, there are no other dice in the reroll for it to multiply.

I know an explanation has already been given for how rerolls work but I can probably put it more simply. If a dice isn't rerolled, it's completely ignored by other rerolled dice. The only exception is for passives and faces that count the number of dice you have. Also, rerolls do not ever stack. A dice can only ever receive 1 reroll bonus during 1 of your rolls. I'm pretty sure that any passives and bonuses that provide a reroll are just straight up ignored by the game the moment a reroll happens. As it would make the most sense to program it that way.

One strat I tried to get to 3 quadrillion is straight off the bat get the shop upgrade then go for dice upgrades doesn’t matter which face or die. And just keep getting it until your at around like 1800 rolls left. Then start to go for the rest of the shop upgrades while trying to get reroll x3 on all faces and all dies Stick with only the dice you get from the shop upgrades for now then start to also get as many passives. Do not get incrementers or any face multipliers. Only get rerolls and dice face number upgrades to go higher and higher until you get to around like 61, 67, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89, 97. As those are prime numbers. Once you get one of those numbers on any dice then upgrade that entire dice to have that face with the prime number so that all faces have the same number. So once that’s the case you want to make one face of that die to have the previous reroll X10 or 5 whichever you get tbh Then really start to get as many passive upgrades as you can. Like doubles bonus, no weight bonus, no 99 bonus, reroll bonus, Yahtzee bonus and whatever else adds to the values. One of the biggest ones is the upgrade to allow non numeric dies to also be multiplied. You will see a hugeeee jump. So once you start to get all those going and almost all your dies are a high prime number on all sides except for one that is a previous reroll X10 and all faces reroll x3 or the passive with the reroll x3 if no weights are there. Then just copy dies until you have 13 and you will probably beat my score but the chances of getting all passives before running out are small it took me forever to even get that quadrillion run What you want to focus on is the rerolls and the passives and then start to get everything

Took 5 hours for just a single game because of lag, but got to 1 quintillion, had a the reroll everything 3 times if you have no weights, and a bunch breeder die breeders and breeder dies, and a bunch of other perks and junk anyways the games eventually took over a minute per roll since it was laging so bad, had 900 dies on the board and the shop was broken by the end
