I voted for shelf number 4, because I really wanted to hear your opinion on Saša Stanišić Before the Feast, or maybe you have read it already? He's my favorite German author and I did not even know that his work got translated, that makes me so happy! The novel is set in my part of Germany (in the media aka known as the part where Angela Merkel is from )and normally authors who are not actually living there write about the people there with a very arrogant and snobby tone, but he made it so funny and respectful. I own every book he has written - 4 in total - but I allow myself only one a year. Sorry for the rant!! I am also glad that you got the vaccine!!

Hi. So glad you got vaccinated. I got my first vaccine dose today also. I live in Dallas, TX, and was given an appointment at a mass vaccination site. While there were many folks at the convention center where we got the jabs, themany police and fire crew staff members, plus a lot of volunteers, helped make everything go smoothly. I was happy to see that our city got the program organized so that many citizens were served efficiently. May everyone be this fortunate, wherever they live. 🙏🏻

I would be quite impressed if you managed to read 6 of those books. Some of them look quite big. I’ve been going through a reading period where I pick up really excellent books but lose interest half way through and have to put them down - trying to get out of this slump. I’m attempting The Long Petal of the Sea by Isabelle Allende and I’ll be Strong for you by Nasim Aaranhi

I LOVED Death In Her Hands!! If you aren’t aware, there are some fat phobic/classist comments in there... to me, these felt like the character’s views (and she is not a perfect or reliable narrator) as opposed to the author, but apparently this is a trend in Moshfegh’s work. This was the first of her books that I’ve read and I got really excited to read her backlist, but now that I’ve heard that they’re all fat phobic I feel so torn.

What a ridiculous comment. Jen has been sheltering in place for 11 months. In that time she has done reading challenges, ambient reading videos, reading vlogs, book recommendations, cooking/baking videos like making book themed cookies, not to mention favourite things videos, and board/card game reviews. Oh and she wrote a book. Also, she has done this particular challenge before. There is nothing wrong with reading challenges . Her books, her channel.
