That Snapper is full of clever design elements. The tube frame allows it to flex on uneven ground, the front wheel steers tighter on the inside than the outside of a turn, storing/ standing it up for service, and the simplest transmission ever that can be adjusted for wear and then rebuilt by replacing one rubber egded disc held on by , I think, 4 bolts. Genius.

@@cwdtransport2247Just bought a new belt, old one was cracked. Doesn't surprise me though, cause I did adjust slipping trans disc by slightly lowering engine's face pulley after doing a ring job. Crazy simple design

I LOVE these old Snapper riding mowers! I started collecting them 3 months ago. I have two old Snappers and one old Snapper self-propelled from the late 70's to early 80's. Tomorrow, I am going to buy a 1968 Snapper Comet that is completely original. It has been sitting in a barn loft because the woman's husband passed away several years ago. I bought it for $140.

Sweet Do you watch JimJacksonFixItShop? I had one delivered a few years ago. Bought if for couple hundred. I knew it was toast or close to it. But they guys went on about how great it is. And I'm like yeah it worth this price. even if it's almost broken. I limped it along for about a year and a half. Then did motor swap from late 70s early 80s. Because the chain or the gear broke in the case wasn't gonna look cause those parts can be couple hundred dollars themselves. Plus taking off the hub ain't no joke on one of them.

The reason some of the leaves is blowing out of the back of the bagger is because the bag is not pulled completely shut in the bagger frame. It has a metal latch to keep it pulled tight and closed.

It's still under construction and I lost two storage sheds in a storm this winter, so everything got dumped into the garage that was already full. It's getting cleaned up everyday and I'm building another shed this summer, a 30x21 pole barn made of steel water pipe and slab wood, which you'll also see on the channel. BEWARE of those who treat ALL Snapper rear engine riders the same when repairing them, ALL of the differentials, chain cases are NOT the same, all the adjustments are NOT the same, get the Model number OFF of the Serial plate on the frame & use it to get a Owners manual & parts manual for the SPECIFIC mower.
