Pretty amazing time! I know you mention that the course was short, but you have to admit, your time was really good especially with all the family meetups as well. I used to live in the midwest and seeing the parade route, the housing styles, etc brought back a lot of memories. Definitely a different style of running route. Also, I have to admit running along the parade route and getting the support of the crowd had to be amazing as well. We have Pioneer days here in Utah and the last 2 miles or so follows the parade route, so it was kind of cool seeing everyone. I enjoyed the content!

Thank you! I went out really fast (≈ 3:15/km) and held that pace for roughly 3-3.5 km before losing steam. The family meetups helped slow me down a bit (which I needed 😂). And having the spectators from the parade makes this race a lot of fun.

Man you made that look easy, stopping etc. you would have beat your time haha 😮 good job fella. I’m a late 22 min runner but working my way towards 21’s hoping by next year I’ll be in the 20’s and within 2 go sub 20 🙏🫶 great channel by the way just subbed. Good for me too and I’m now starting to train for a half an a marathon and I’ve never done any at all.

imagine how much faster you could be if you didn’t run every day and actually let your body and legs recover properly

Maybe, but my legs would’ve been tired either way.

@@joshuaxruns You've been crushing it at your races this year 'despite' run streaking. Clearly it's working for you, and there's plenty of evidence that slower recovery days help more than a complete rest day.

You can't title this video as a 5K PR attempt. It's clickbait and misleading.
@joshuaxruns
@joshuaxruns 4 ай бұрын
This was an actual 5k PR attempt, so it isn’t misleading. I ran well above my current PR (≈ 3:15/km) for roughly 3 - 3.5 km and then hit the wall.

@@joshuaxrunswell it wasn’t really an attempt cos you already had the mindset that you weren’t gonna get the PR, also you stopped a few times for selfies throughout the run
@joshuaxruns

I was being realistic about my chances of actually getting the PR. I still attempted the PR. Once I knew I wasn’t getting it, I stopped to say hi to people and decided to have fun. I knew I would still have a decent time.

@@joshuaxruns I can respect that you are taking the time to explain yourself, but in my opinion, learning to push even if a task seems impossible is important. Even if you came short, viewers would respect the effort more. Also, you would gain more mental edge going into future races knowing that you can push regardless of the conditions.

Too negative in the beginning bro, shift all those reasons that you can’t into reasons why you can. Because you got those long runs in you are ready to run fast, because you got over the sickness you feel a lot better, because you have an opportunity to run fast at this race you will, ect. Our minds believe what we tell them 🥇💪🏼

I wouldn’t say negative, just realistic. I wanted to try for another PR attempt but was ok knowing that if it didn’t happen, I knew why.
