This was my game that Zieley saved. I want to sincerely thank him for helping me out. The King of Aquitaine my original liege was captured almost immediately upon the war being declared, even though I was helping siege down Andalusian targets. I thought it would be game over but I was left with 2 counties. I had lost Barcelona which I spent 1000s of gold upgrading over the life of my first character (started as a custom 3 yr old duchess) I didn't realize I could swear fealty as a Catholic to a Muslim and have them accept. My future plan for the game will be to slowly form the Empire of Hispania but stick just to the de-jure borders. I'll consider the game done once the Iberian peninsula is under my control. Thanks again Zieley! Can't believe how easily you handled the revoke title request from the Sultan, I would not have handled it so well - Perfection

stoping after getting hispania I get it once you reach a certain size expansion is more a pain that any thing else I just conquer all of india and make the decision to untit it like I could go on but I have like 60000 troop and 100gold a month I also add like 30+ kid I know it crazy but I was doing a repopulate india

You need to specialize your MAA to consist of siege equipment and ONE other type of unit that you stack modifiers for through buildings, traditions, etc.

@@JacoDeltaco Reforming asatru in the north, having warmonger tenet and practiced pirates from cultural upgrades makes the game crazy AF. Your vassals will go crazy on conquest and raiding. You hardly have to do anything. Its kind of funny sight to see how your religion/empire slowly creeps all over the map. Anyway, just a suggestion, if you havent done it already. Well worth sticking to the end of the game.

You know, this is a great way to teach new players how to play the game. A tutorial is really good for the starting player but this teaches you ''how'' to play the game. This teaches players that its not always game over when something bad happens and that you can make a comeback. Good job on this video and make this a series!

But sometimes, you need real time to make all this decisions. When you have this type of hit (losing more than half your dominions) its very easy to ragequit, and if you continúe, making desesperate moves that usually make the things worse. So, you need some real days (maybe weeks) to rethink your strategy, and rebuild without being controlled by rage.

That character was 1 learning perk away from "Learning on the Job" when you switched from Learning to martial focus. Learning on the Job is a huge bonus, and way more important than getting the extra control per month. Going martial is a decent choice, but the extra skills would be way better, unless your councillors are bad.

Great video as usual! You can remove the commander on the march to attract the enemy or prevent him from escaping from you and then assign a commander when you or enemy have a gray arrow

Yeah the AI is pretty stupid like that. You don't grant someone vassalage who has that many claims inside your kingdom unless you have high or absolute crown authority. If you ever go for this type of play by the way, you do not go for religious freedom, you get protection from title recovation asap for the reason seen in the video. Yes he can demand your conversion, yes, he gets an imprisonment reason on you but until then you can join factions if there are any and that may make him very unlikely to try to arrest you, as he will be fighting a lot more people. You can always convert and then go back to catholicism later. It's a bit gamey but yeah. Also when he murdered his liege and then kingfom split, leaving the titles he wanted with a different kingdom, I kind of facepalmed a bit. You should have seen this coming....

Had the same strategies apply in game to real life and had you been an actual ruler during those time, I many Historians would call you Zieley the Great. Coz this was one hell of a save. I would have just restarted. But I'm still a newbie in this game and hell I love it so much, even if I only have a tiny kingdom.

This video affirmed to me, apart from the fact that you are a true expert sir, that rage quitting in CK3 is just not the way to play. Which I also learned after a large group of vassals took my king title recently through plotting, after which nobody wanted to help the new king out and he was outnumbered 5 to 1 by me. 5 years after the fact I was king again. It thoroughly is a rollercoaster game.

I have a “lot” of hours in this game (which I’ve been playing since CK1), and I thought that there weren’t many situations that I couldn’t get out of but you take the cake. I know you don’t play your own games, but if you did, I wonder if you’d try a historical Bulgarian 867 start. With 2 caveats: 1) Must fight off (at least white peace) against Magyar invasion and 2) form Empire of Southern Slavia without swearing fealty or being subjugated by Byzantines.

I really hope future updates nerf swearing fealty, it’s way too broken to do what you did and dismantle an empire if you swear fealty even with high taxation and levies. Demand council position is broken, especially for stewards. Hopefully they limit the number of wars you can declare, ie: your liege imprisons you etc

I totally agree, there should be some time limit to wage a war, it should start a truce-like obligation with all vassals as well for a decent chunk of time.

​@@scanix100 If it functioned like an independent form of truce that you can similarly break and make fellow vassals hate you, but not external nations. In this case, the player's land is well developed, which is how he could afford to pay high taxes and still maintain a large military force. Most players just paint the map in their colour and don't even build towns/castles/churches. They wouldn't be able to afford the price and would probably collapse. It's not swearing fealty that's over powered, it's building tall.

@@Zaire82 thats honestly fair enough, being "under" someone weak and malleable is always gonna work well when you can build 2-3 duchies to be stronger than entire empires. That said i quite like that tall is so powerful though, a rich region slowly taking control of it's liege is not unheard of.

Wish the ai was a bit more competent when developing their own land so the game becomes harder but also if you siege a land the rewards are better. Not needing to do everything yourself.

That and I like to pause randomly / semi-frequently Not sure why it's hard to just make the ai build when they have the extra gold. Although that may be the hard part no one ever has more than 100g at a time reallly

You have 300 different variations of way to play, but every idiot and their idiot kid has watched that one video on YT that tells them "this is the OP strats" and so you really only play against that one variation.

These videos are great. Nice to see practical examples of how to play, even when things are looking dire. So I'm guessing the move would have been to, after you swore fealty with religious exemption, to then go and change your feudal contract for either title protection or a council position, make yourself his spymaster, then use that to murder him, right? No roasting, just thinking about the strategic options.

Hey Zieley. I dont know if you just said it wrong or do not know it but religious taxation does not stop a ruler from revocing your land due to your religion being diffrent from his it just stops him from converting you and your land. The Opinion of the ruler generally helps to stop the ruler from revocing your land if you are of diffrent religion.

Right now I'm kinda struggling to keep four descendants together as independent rulers in four kingdoms, I don't play ironman so I'm able to swap into another character and secure successions, but I mostly leave everyone on they're own only really negotiating alliances and maintaining peaceful realtionships

Additionally, swearing fealty with Religious Taxation doesn't count as changing your contract, so you can IMMEDIATELY go in and re-negotiate to increase your levies and prevent title revocation too.

You should ransom war prisoners before ending a war if you're annexing that nation in the war. For example, when you sniped the Northeastern Sheik in Barcelona, he was only one province and you had his heir. You could've ransomed his heir for 25-100 Gold before ending the war

Would have been a lot easier had you added title protection to your contract. The ai will give it to you basically for free, and it makes playing a vassal super easy
