Brother this is super early access so many bugs and shit going on many things locked behind stupid quests that take long if you just dont get certain ress so it will be a long time before it will be ready for release but can be quite good at that

I'm actually really surprised of how accurate the City is to the real one, actually accounting for the walls and the layout. I wonder if they used satellite imagery to generate the map automatically. That would explain how they can have this massive amount of real-life locations

yep I think they even wrote about it on the steam page or there own page how they used satellite and other map tools to generate the map for the game. that said I do wonder if the 200 story building is still there (Microsoft flight sim relesed last year maybe had a "bug" where a random building in the US was like 200 floors tall because some paperwork was wrong making a 2 floor building 200 floor and microsoft flight sim just went a 200 floor building out in noware the size of a regular house no problem). (not sure if any player not paying attension have crashed into it yet).

iirc, they let you choose any spot on the world, it then uses data to generate a map for that spot, so you could play the game in your home town.

There's also a version of Googlemaps that makes buildings more 3d. So it would be easier to build a map of a city that way.

This is the best game that I've played for decades! It might even be the best game I've ever played! this city is really great if you want to build big. I didn't know that the infected could walk through water, it's a little bit of a game breaker since you then have no terrain type that is safe! They should have made the water to deep for the infected to traverse it! Haven't been testing the research that much since you don't need it in the prologue (only 7 days). You really should build more defences and bring the three cars inside the fort. I would love it if you could have two squads in a car. That way you could be very effective searching the map for food and other stuff.

This is going to be a very interesting playthrough, because the chosen location is actually a place I've been to! There's an amusement park close by called Gardaland - because of the Garda lake - which I actually visited twice! The map doesn't reach that far, so it's probably not included in the game, but still, having an amusement park with rollercoasters as a base would be an amusing concept.

This game it’s absolutely amazing I actually live in peschiera, 😂😂. It is super detailed, on the 2:00 where there is the building with the gun symbol it is actually a police station in real life, they train the carabinieri there and it’s the command center for the lake area.

Very nice touch using actual map data for the police stations, food stores and libraries, but finding automatic weapons in random houses in Italy is quite strange...Also, it's hilarious when at 44:25 you are looking for scientific books in an elementary school 😂

Yeah, it would even be somewhat strange in the US to find many automatic weapons unless you raided a police station or national guard armory, or perhaps the home of someone wealthy who was into shooting sports and/or marksmanship. Owning automatic weapons requires a license and a tax stamp if your state even allows it, and can be a rather expensive and involved process to complete. You would find a metric shit ton of semi-automatic AR platform rifles, shotguns, handguns, bows, crossbows, long bladed weapons, blunt weapons like baseball bats, the occasional semi-automatic AK platform rifle, and long range tactical or hunting weapons (i.e. sniper rifles and brush rifles) behind every rock, tree, and blade of grass, however. It would be downright unbalanced if you found a realistic amount of guns and ammo in the US, especially in less populous states.

any random spot? well, you want to play it smart and pick a spot that is away from Cities and Towns. So thing more Forest Areas, Think Cabin /Cave type living for awhile. gathering up enough Supplies. then moving up to a Cold Climate where Zombs wont be able to survive at all. Or on a Boat.

So glad to see you cover this game. Its such a cool concept, specially now that they added that pseudo EA version without day limit. OOoh, new location! PLEASE tell me they made water block zombies. It didnt in the Prologue demo. Oh, btw, giving a rifle to the first squad member is a waste if you are gonna use them for kitting with a vehicle. The driver will never shoot their weapon, even though they need to be parked to fire anyway.

Your driver won't use his weapon while in the car. The wheel icon shows who is driving. The game uses the same person in a squad, unless you disband it and reform them.

the cute thing about this game is that the infected doesn't attack people who are still returning back if they happen to be outside so they are pretty safe all the time. Even raiders. They don't shoot civilian workers even if they are near them. For some reason, you can even use the 'demolish building' queue to have the infected beat those unoccupied areas instead of your actual structures. it seems they prioritize attacking that even though those queue buildings do not have any hp lmao You can definitely cheese this game using this trick

I love the focus on repurposing buildings, I wish dayZ and other survival games went that route. I find it pretty stupid to think that in a zombie apocolypse everyones going to build there own log house, and i get being self sufficient but i don't really think of carpentry as a survival skill lol
