Can I use a ResMed CPAP mask with a Fisher and Paykel CPAP machine?

A common misconception within the world of CPAP is that if you have a ResMed machine you need to use a ResMed mask. Or an F&P machine you need to sue an F&P mask.
This video explains that different brand CPAP masks can be used with different brand CPAP machines. The ResMed AirMini is the exception as it needs a certain connection.
ResMed AirMini will work with the ResMed AirFit P10, N20, F20, F30 and the AirTouch F20.

I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I'm a TOTAL newbie to using a CPAP, & just got a F&P mask that comes with its own tube. The super nice rep showed me allll the things- except how to connect the mask's tube to the heated one they initially gave me. (I tried a different mask a few times & failed miserably at fitting it, so I went in for help & he switched me up to this one.) From what I can tell the smooth f&p port will NOT fit into the notched double squeezy thing where the heated tube used to click onto my old mask, so.. what am I doing wrong..? Is there something I'm missing here..? An attachment I need, or a bit to take off..? Thank you so so much! I've been really eager try out my new mask, so this has been a real bummer! 💙
