Would love to see a full process of washing, prepping and polishing outdoors. Doesn’t have to be full sun but just the process of doing sections maybe.

How to Rinseless Wash & decontaminate outside! Ceramic Coating Series (#1 of 3) kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6XdnmSqhLx_j7c
@dansanders3402 ай бұрын
I did mine at 45° Fahrenheit this week outside, and everything worked as if I was indoors, I was able to Safely work about a quarter of the car at a time, iron remove with clay towel, rinse with a 5$ Harbor freight sprayer, and dry before polishing. The polishing was done later in the evening, but one thing I'd like to say about it is diy is great about efficiency and being trustworthy. I used a 2 gallon bucket to rinse the pad after each panel, water got super dirty from my single stage black paint, but never affected performance. I also did a 2 step Correction since I had heavy scratches and plenty of paint to work with, and it was awesome being able to cut the whole car, and leave the polish on while I did the finishing step. It was pretty cool to have an extensive exterior detail take about 6-8 hours for the processes that would normally take more than 12 hours, if not 16. Also, Trim restore worked wonders, my only ordeal with it is finding some type of brush I can dispose of as it took at least 45 minutes and aching joints to work it into the trim under the windshield that has plastic grates. Also, worth noting, I took my time, did some things inefficiency and slowly, but I'm sure that having practice I will have cars down to 4 hours for wash, decon, 1 step correction or enhancement, and protection. Beforehand everything would take twice as long and not be user friendly. WE DONT EVEN HAVE TO TAPE OFF TRIM, it's so efficient, lol, sorry for the rant

I know this vid wasn’t about your ceramic coatings, but I just got finished applying the 8/3 stack, and I was blown away by the ease of application and slickness of the results. Thank you so much for all the vids, tutorials and advice you give us DIYers out here and getting fabulous results!!! Wow!

Since I have to polish outside(even with canopies), I'm very hesitant to take on a black car. The dust accumilaton(even if it's not windy) on the paint is so fast it makes polishing counterproductive. At least to me. :) Plus, when it's hot outside, especially in direct sunlight the paint really swells up. Those that have a clean garage, DO NOT take it for granted.

Just started watching your videos, amazing channel, subscribed and i hit that like button on every video i watch, i've ordered a bunch of your products and eagerly awaiting them to arrive (not available at local stores down here in Aus), i'm no detailer just like to clean my car most weekends (it's black so stays clean for about 2 hours). when the stuff shows up my plan is to pre wash with foam cannon incredible suds, rinseless contact wash, iron remover then water spot remover and your clay towel, polish with the gold standard and red jeweling pad, then hit it with the ceramic gloss. my question to you is, what about the weekend after? should i just use rinseless and ceramic gloss as a drying aid for that weekly clean?
@diydetailofficial2 ай бұрын
That’s a great plan.

Hey guys! Love your channel, I’m getting ready for Black Friday! Do you use interior protect or rinseless wash for interior cleaning? Dare I even say all clean..
@diydetailofficial2 ай бұрын
Both work great for interiors, if you want to use All Clean we recommend diluting it at 30:1

The 60+ club we have done good and real bad in the sun and under the trees in the yard. The stories we can tell form the transitions from single stage to 1st gen clear is mind boggling. Polisher action, pressure and the work of the polish can do with the least amount of pressure and dwell time is so important. I don't like dry wiping it off and use a detail spray but want to get away from introducing chemicals to fresh open surface before coating is applied. Question I have is, Gold Standard and my duel action take out those swirls the wife sneaks into the finish between times we work in the finish? Just don't want to spend hours over working this because the "Drive in car washes" she gets always leave these behind. I can spend hours on a car that was dropped off after years of the whippings, Give me some hope.

Using a coating will help, the best is to keep the car clean so she doesn’t want to go the car wash.

How often should I change out my two polish wipe off towels? Just trying to maximize my results. I'm polishing for the first time right now, my black Lexus GX 460. Did your recommended 3 step decon process beforehand. :)
@diydetailofficial2 ай бұрын
We use one set of towels for the whole car. It’s important to decontaminate before polishing.

Is there a point in buying the red jewelling pad if you only have a 15mm DA polisher and no rotary for the Gold Standard polish system? Also, can you correct paint when it's cold (10 degrees Celsius) ? Thanks in advance!

Im a mobile detailer in South Georgia, my question is, how hot is too hot for me not to do this? Now that its Fall/Winter i can start doing polish and paint corrections outside. All of my work is in the elements some of my clients have a garage for me to work in. I've been searching for more products that are user friendly in direct sunlight 🌞.

For the coating, I was initially planning to apply 5/3 stack during Christmas break but with snow and salt (I am based in Montreal), is it better to wait for spring / summer? And what precautions should I take during the first 1-2 weeks (besides no washing 1st week and no water first 24h) if I decide to coat during Christmas break?
@diydetailofficial2 ай бұрын
If you can do it in a garage, then no problem, after installing wait a minimum of 1 hour before putting back outside.

Polishing outside is difficult. It’s my only option and I’m learning on the fly. There has been times where I thought I removed all the swirls and even checked it with my light but came back later when it was dark and saw the results were not as good as I thought. It can be frustrating.
