If you play it with major chords it sounds like 'Just Like Heaven' or 'Fade into you'. And now I'm realizing how many songs use that chord progression in A.

I play it in a different way and it sounds really similar to the original. instead of playing B minor and D major, I play the full barre chord versions of B5/F# and D5/A power chords which are F#m11(also called B7sus2/F#) and A11 (also called Dmaj7sus2/A) F#m11: 2-2-4-2-2-2 A11: 5-5-7-6-5-5 I prefer to olay that way, because I still play the power chords as they are "inside" these chords and I really like the sound of these inverted bass. So the chord sequence of the version I play is: 1. Asus2, E, F#m11, A11, E 2. Asus2, E, F#m, A, E (the, go to sequence 1 again and repeat this cycle)

I vote yes, but only with the ringey outey going up chords. See, you can even do the impossible 😲

Can you campfire The Menzingers "Come On Heartache"?
@jameslong4929 Жыл бұрын
Its pretty close to there for me. Id say yes. A cover should vary a bit from the original. Thats what makes it interesting. Kinda like dishes. You may have had potato salad before, but everyone adds their own secret sauce to dishes. Hence what makes it interesting. Many times Ive heard covers that were an improvement on the original imo and there it is. Its all opinion. In the words of Stevie Ray Vaughn "Its only a mistake if you quit playing". I think Kurt Kobain adopted that philosophy in song writing to great success. I say this one feels right. Take care Ryan. Love those campfires. 👍
