Sathish kumar Hi mate. It's basically about accessibility. The glue I used is very runny so gets into small gaps and right into the end of cracks. I thought about PVA but decided it wouldn't reach the very thin area at the end of the crack.

@@JPGavanCricket You are right about that reaching the narrow part of teh crack. But wood glue can be thinned by adding water and can be made to reach the thinner part of the crack. May be injected via a cyring or somthing. I have done it multiple times and it works absolutely fine for me. Than i pour some ragular glue in the open part of the crack and kaboom

Brother its not about to look it fine and new it should work ..... If a fast ball can break a bat then just by gluing it will it be sustainable.

If you drill by the sides .. and put 2 or 3 wood shafts in the repaired part of the bat... Won't that be more strong then normal glue joint 🙂

nice work mate... And yep you need an apron as some commented. And in this day and age PPE Face mask for the dust. You will pay the price in years to come. Nice touch with the spoke shave, and why not oil the bat after with linseed oil? It would bring out the grain so much nicer. Possibly with that repair place a wooden pin through the shoulder and handle laterally to provide more strength?

John Williams thanks for the suggestions. I certainly considered a dowel through the shoulder but decided it'd only be detrimental (especially straight through the handle). The new handle should keep everything nice and strong.

Though I played with tape tennis ball but after Brocken my cricket bat I applied only super glue to repair it and it worked much better than wood glue I think. I never tighten my bat by knotting it. Just super glue and it worked amazingly 😂

Very nicely done. Could I suggest that you invest in a workshop apron to keep your clothes clean. Dark coloured clothing with saw dust looks very dirty & untidy imo.
